AGM Kathok Gonpa

Treasurer’s report – Chris Duckworth

Thank you everyone for a great year for fundraising and lots of hard work by the sangha.The report was reviewed and unanimously approved (Moved by Jane, seconded by Melissa).

Budget

3 aspects to the Budget:1. Ordinary temple operations (hydro, phone etc.).2. Events budget (Lama’s decide when/how – so we can’t plan ahead for this).3. Capital projects budget – i.e. the porch – priorities shift, so again hard to make a budget for particular projects during the year.A proposed temple operations budget of $11,000 was suggested. Moved by Jane to accept,seconded by Jaz, passed unanimously.

New Business

There was discussion around the election of a new President and updating the Society bylaws.Copies of the proposed bylaws were available for review prior to the AGM via email from SteveAyers. Currently President, Secretary and Treasurer positions are necessary in the Society.Many organizations try to protect the Spiritual heads from any liabilities and do not make themSociety Directors. Currently all positions are for 12 months and are reviewed at the AGM.Some people have served in a position for more than 12 months when asked to do so.Lingtrul Rinpoche and Karzang Rinpoche will always provide guidance and direction (beSpiritual Directors). The President, Treasurer and Secretary will always check everything witheither Spiritual Director before taking any action. It’s always been very important that everyonegets along and be an inspiration for each other and new members or visitors to the centre.1
