Get to work.

Important tips for you to build or remodel your home.
1This leaflet provides useful information to guide you in building or repairing y

our home. Any construction or renovation requires the participation of a qualifi
ed professional, responsible for the design and execution of the work. Search th
e City and / or CREA, for more information about it.
2LAND

Building or renovating, you always wins! This leaflet helps you with lots of tip s to build a home safe and durable. Come on! Get to work! First of all, see if y ou have documents to prove that the land is yours. These documents are the deed or the commitment of sale signed and authenticated by the seller. If you do not have these documents, try to inform how and where to obtain them. Clean the grou nd and check on the spot:

If you have a risk of collapse of the house
If you have a risk of flooding if the soil of the land is poor
TIP

You will need water since the beginning of the work.
3PLAN OF THE HOUSE

Chalk on paper how you imagine your future home. So you can decide how many room s will build and size them. You can get the parts needed, such as bedroom, kitch en and bathroom (embryo) and increase the number of bedrooms as the family grow (expand).

Project approval
Check in the Hall (or CREA) what are the requirements to approve the plan of you
r home and allow their construction (the limit of land clearances, technician et
c).. Several prefectures have plants ready for homes of different sizes, already
approved and come with a license to start work.

Renting the house
Start the job leveling the ground where the house will be built. Now, build tres
tles, a jig or a Tabeiros and mark the location of the house on the ground. Do n
ot forget to check the square. This step is very important to ensure the constru

ction of the walls in position.
5FOUNDATION

The foundation or foundation used to support the house on the ground. The founda tion depends on the soil of their land. A survey lets you know what is the most suitable foundation. There are firms specializing in soil surveys. But the best tip is to visit the neighbors to know how were the foundations of nearby houses.

Baldrame (running shoe)
If you find firm ground to a depth of 60 cm, you can dig a ditch and make baldra

me directly on its bottom. You can do baldrame blocks or concrete.

TIP

Dont forget to do the waterproofing to prevent moisture "climb" the walls of his
house.
6Broca (stake)
If you can not find solid ground to 60 cm deep, it will be necessary to support
the baldrame on drills.

Raft
Another solution is to build a concrete slab on the ground, known as a raft. Bes
ides supporting your home, the raft now serves as the counter and sidewalk. But
the raft can only be used if the land has all the same type of soil. If a party
is strong and another weak, the radio can not be used.

TIP
Do not forget to install the sewer pipes and drains before the concrete raft.
7Concrete for foundation

Application Base lean concrete Concrete of baldrame (shoe race), drill (cutting) and the radio series a cement bag of 50 kg 8 ½ cans of sand 11 ½ cans of rock 2 cans water 1 bag of cement of 50 kg 5 cans 6 ½ cans of sand stone 1 ½ can of wa ter yield per bag of cement of 50 kg 14 cans or 0.25 m 3 Tip The soil should be leveled and tamped before the launch of lean concrete Try to do the concreting o f once to avoid seams in the concrete fundação.O concrete must be well compacted (vibrated)

9 cans or 0.16 m3

ATTENTION: 1. For the measurements, use cans of 18 liters. Avoid dented cans. 2. Keep the concrete wet for a week after the concreting. After the third day is a lready possible to run other services on this occasion.

Flatness
Any type of foundation should be leveled. If necessary, make a layer of mortar f

or smoothing (regularization) on the foundation ready. To prevent soil moisture climb the walls, apply a layer of mortar with waterproofing on the foundation or on the capping layer. This mortar should be smoothened without smoothing. When it is dry, apply a paint sealer.

Capping layer (adjustment)
1 can 3 cans of cement sand
The mortar should not be too soft-channel block is the most suitable for this ty

pe of foundation Follow the instructions that come in a can of waterproofing. Us

HOW TO PREPARE A GOOD CONCRETE
Use clean rock and sand (no clay or mud), without organic material (roots, leave
s, twigs etc). And without grains crumble when pressed between your fingers. The
water should also be cleaned (good for drinking).

It is very important that the amount of water the mixture is correct. Both exces
s and lack is detrimental to the concrete. Excess water reduces concrete strengt

h. Lack of water makes the concrete-filled holes.
Concrete mixed by hand
1. Spread the sand, forming a layer about 15 cm
2. About 4. 3. Or sand with a shovel, hoe, shake the place the sand and cement t

o form a cement mixing and uniform
Spread the mixture, forming a layer of 15 cm to 20 cm
5. Place the stones on this layer, mixing everything well
6. Make a mound with a hole (crown) in the middle
7. Add water and mix gradually, preventing it from dripping
9Concrete mixed in mixer

TIP
1. Place the stone in the mixer 2. Add half the water and stir for a minute
