We human beings carry inside our souls a sense of duty about America and the American Dream. I want to pass along a piece of myself to those who would follow.(Book Enclosed - MS Word) This great idea of a story is a human story, one that has been repeated for thousands of years. We are the American generation that only promises massive debt to those who will follow.The problem is that we've gone from $20 trillion in liabilities and unfunded commitments for things such as Social Security and Medicare in 2000 to $50 trillion in 2006. "That's $435,000 per American household. The median household income in the United States is $36,000 -- that's a 9-to-1 debt-to-income ratio and it's going up every second. We can't keep doing what we are doing.The hard fact is that we Americans will need to pay more in taxes now, or our children will pay a lot more taxes later. We will also have to seriously reduce federal spending, especially for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. What will reform look like? And how harsh will it have to be to return a positive legacy? A lot depends on how quickly we as a nation reach consensus on these issues. The longer we wait, the longer we put it off, the more damage we are doing to our children's future.Those who follow will forever damn us. This is the purpose of this book. To tell America that it is time to pay attention. Time to get on the bus and look around. Time to be what everyone speaks so heartfully about but never takes it to heart, and that is being part of the American Dream, not just merely saying it because everyone says it, but in reality, become it, and I think that is one area where we have lost our way. I realize that much has been written on this subject and without doubt, many more will follow, but I don't believe any have ever written what I wrote in my book. I want to get it out to the people, and this is a start in that direction. There will be many questions asked, but i am willing to address any questions that may arise, and I believe there will be many thrown my way. But, I am also prepared for any size avalanche.
