Their foodsource came by means of hard labor, working in the fields with theirhands. They knew nothing of refined foods and substitutes, and theywere able to instill in their generations the practice of simplicity in itsmost natural form. Their staple foods were beans, corn, rice, vegetables,and fruits. From these simple foods they prospered in health.
