NOTES TO THE READERTHE COURSE OBJECTIVE
To enable the college member completing the course to have a thoroughunderstanding of general horticulture and to be successful in the Royal HorticulturalSociety Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture. Previously this certificate was called theRHS General Certificate in Horticulture.An HCC Certificate of course completion is issued to all who successfully completethe course. A course completion certificate can be issued to those who decide todo part of the course or pick and mix the lessons from other courses. The HCCcertificate would state which lessons had been studied, the level of work achievedwould also be described – this would be from satisfactory course completionthrough to good credit and distinction. These are our assessments and our procedures. They are not part of a national scheme of awards.
ABOUT THE HCC
The Horticultural Correspondence College offers its members the full tutorial carepackage which includes the marking of scripts and general care according to thedetails set out in the HCC's prospectus.Where the HCC lesson texts are purchased as material only or supplied by other colleges in support of their own courses, the care package from the HCC is notgenerally available without additional fees being paid to the HCC.The HCC has as its 'reason to be' a desire to be helpful. If the reader is not yet amember of the college and would like to join the roll of HCC members, then doplease give the office a ring and ascertain what the marking and tutorial care feewould be.
