the world, kings of the time and aesthete of the globe, where (lid that asset go away, and what

became of it?

o brothers! You don't know Of my condition and I don't know the state of your hearts. I am saying this with my tongue, but only Allah knows what is inside my heart. What you do and what is inside your heart, Allah knows it as well. But Allah is Absolutely Independent for we have seen it with those before us and those with Hadhrat"?", .who did Zikr for years but were finally rejected and died on Kufr. Many people with us who had put in great efforts (in this regard) and even possessed spiritual visions, finally came to deny Allah. You may also have seen many who spent years but ultimately were thrown out in rejection. Why does this happen? If a person works for an hour, he is paid his dues; he _is not just thrown out; then why does an endeavour of a lifetime get rejected. It is not Allah Who rejects; He is too Kind, but it is ourselves who keep building the edifice of our relationship on a fragile foundation, and it collapses under the slightest of pressures. We only fulfil customs and formalities and even try to hunt for worldly benefits, and remain unmindful of the real states. We consider it as a means of making the world by becoming a Shaikh or a Scholar, wherein people would come and give us alms and donation, and hence lot of money out of little pain. Why do such thoughts occur? It is because those pangs of love are missing, thus turning the whole affair into a worldly ritual only. That pain of love is absent. Try to analyse yourself. One thing is for sure; the only way forward is with that feeling (of love) and by giving away. But we have nothing to offer! The only alternative could be to wake up while others are fast asleep, to seek the opportunity to prostrate (before Allah) whilst others are rushing around and to try and save ourselves from the unlawful when others are accumulating it. This realization, this feeling should develop in one's heart that the relation with Allah and the Holy Prophet'"?" should never deteriorate. If this feeling !S missing then it shall be a sheer worldly tradition of coming there and going back, making no difference what so ever. In the normal routine of life we have seen that people join various political parties and then swap places. While this may be the norm there, it is not applicable to the realm of love, desire and longing. Therefore my brothers! Talk to your own self; question your self and look for the an.swer within yourself. It is my desire as well as a prayer and a suggestion that be straight with your Allah and the Holy prophet+?" and leave no doubts, confusion or deceit in that (relation). Leave no veil in between; open your heart before them and it is for them to,grant whatever they want. Indeed Allah bestows more than a person's capacity and no one is left deprived in HIS Court. It is a Court where a frayed begging bowl is repaired, enlarged and filled. The only thing to kepp in mind is to try and develop an ever increasing pain, feeling and desire (of love and longing for Allah). We should live in.and die with this longing alone. May Allah forgive us our sins that we may have committed consciously or unconsciously and may HE grant us those pangs of beart, HIS love and that of HiS Beloved"?" and indeed HE is Merciful and nothing is beyond HIS Mercy.

of the Holy Prophet'"?" after the vast stretch of fourteen centuries, if we treat all this turns as a sheer ritual then we are indeed narvc: those travelling for the Zikr (towards Dar ul-Irfan) make so many undue stops on their way for petty requirements such as having tea, food or even prayer (for that matter), with the result they miss out on both of the Zikr sessions. Arriving late, they yet look for the dinner. What do you come here for? Whyundertake the trouble to travel all the way here if you won't get a proper bed for the over night stay? One could have felt better at home if comfort is the priority. But if one must come here they must reach before the evening prayer. Why waste the opportunity of Zikr? Do we not fill this stomach every day? Do we not rest o,ur bodies every day? A day's endeavour should not be a big deal. If this is the case of the Zakirin what chance do non-Zakirin stand? Such is the state of those whom we consider as the Aulia Allah that they prefer their physical needs, comforts and desires over Zikr. A few of the participants have demanded an extra morning session of Zikr in addition to the evening and early Tahajjad Zikr sessions, since they could not arrive earlier due to their commitments. This (extra) session of the Zikr that we do on account of the wish or command, what ever you may like to call that, but the fact of the matter is that even then those people can't make it. Now how do we find out what kind of desire a heart carries and what mystery is this love, and where to look for it?

Majnoon was kissing the feet of a dog when some one asked him: "What are you doing? there's limit even to craziness". Majnoon replied: "I have seen this dog go through the street of Leila some time!" The following anecdote was related by Maulana Thanvi":", He said, "I have heard it from some one but I have not read it in any book: when Hadhrat Ameer Muawiyah"?" and, Hadhrat Hassan"?" patched up, the latter handed over Khilafat to Hadhrat Ameer Muawiyah"?" and set off to visit the Haram and to perform Umrah. Qais, who was a close friend of Hadhrat Hassan"?" went along with him. During their journey, Hadhrat Hassan"?" talked about his decision of giving the Khilafat to hIS Uncle Ameer Muawiyah"?" and how it accounted for saving the Muslim Ummah from discord. Qais replied: "what are you talking brother Hassan? The Khilafat suits neither of you. You both had been raising the issue for nothing". Hadhrat Hassan"?" got surprised because there had been no other claimant of Khilafat and in amazement he asked Qais: "then to whom does it suit?" Qais replied: "it suits Leila!" Hadhrat Hassan exclaimed: "your are a Majnoon (lunatic)!" And for this very reason Qais became famous with the title of Majnoon: the 'lunatic. Hadhrat Hassan"?" called him a Majnoon because Leila had nothing to do with the affairs of the government yet Qais found her worthy of it. That was the state of a person being who had fallen in love with another human being. What should be the state of that person who falls in love with Allah? If Allah accepts, then even a single recitation is enough for redemption. It is the saying of the Holy Prophet"?" that even if a single recitation or sheer utterance of Allah-o Akbar, 0 Allah or Subhan Allah which are all '!asbeeh (praise to Allah), earns acceptance with Allah, it is enough for the redemption (but) 'I ani not talking about redemption. I am talking about something beyond it. Where are those pangs of love, granted to us by' the Holy ~ropherSAWS? Where is that treasure which was entrusted to us that kept us elevated; ruling, adorning, setting and beautifying the ,world; it accounted forus tobe rulers of

for the sake of combating oppression and destruction, and for replacing the darkness of ignorance with light. But it is indeed not Jihad to bomb places of worship and to open fire on innocent people in public. It is not Jihad but blatant blood shedding, a quality synonymous with the ignorant and oppressors of every time like Changez Khan as well as every tyrant of every age. This (quality) was found in Hitler, the British, and the Americans, and is true of them even today. Why was Hiroshima atom bombed despite Japan's surrender? Why was Nagasaki bombed? Just for the sake of experiment to see the effect! Millions of people lost their lives and cities were turned into ruins. This was a wanton desire to destroy! But when the love of Allah arises and the love of Holy Prophet"?" evokes, it inspires (one) to sacrifice one's life for the truth rather than taking away lives and killing for no reason. Then people come out for Ehqaaq-e Haqq (establishment of Truth). It is then when they kill and get killed. Those who execute Jihad in Allah's way, kill as well as get killed. (9: 111). But that act is according to the Command and

will of Allah and HIS Prophet"?" and not out of their personal instincts. ~

r,

In one of the Jihads Hadhrat Khalid -RAU raised his sword (against his opponent) who (in tum) recited the Kalimah yet Hadhrat Khalid's sword went across him and killed him. Muslims won the battle and on return presented the incident before the Holy Prophet"?" that the person had

. recited the Kalimah but Hadhrat Khalid"?" didn't stop. The Holy Prophet";" asked for the reason and Hadhrat Khalid?" replied that he (the vanquished) had only done so because of the fear of the sword and not by his heart. The Holy Prophet"?" said: "Did u rip open his heart (to see that); how did you know that he was just reciting it ostensibly? Once he had recited the Kalimah you should have stopped." The Holy Prophet"?" didn't approve of it and said that it was wrong and exceeding the limits. It was not necessary to take a life for no reason. Once he had recited the' Kalimah regardless of that being superficial or by heart, he (Hadhrat Khalid"'?") should have refrained.

It was ordered (by the Holy Prophet"?") in every Jihad, not to raise sword against anyone who does not raise his sword in the first place. Crops shall not be destroyed and trees shall not be cut. People in the places of worship shall not be disturbed, even if they were worshipping idols. Today, those in prostration before Allah are being fired upon. What is the meaning of this? Now, it has become customary to swear at the west and blame the US. Leave the US alone! It is not a Muslim state, (although) Muslims are also living there, by Allah's Grace, but the over all system or the state is not Islamic. They have their own religion in the West. We should talk about ourselves; what are those who proclaim the Kalimah doing here? From every city comes the news of blasts, every city is a killing ground, dead bodies can be found in every city and street, children and other family members are being abducted and there is looting every where, what is all that? It is the same harassment that was prevalent before the advent of the Holy Prophet"?". Love was endowed by the Holy Prophet"?". Once people got farther away from there, the same disease returned. The medicine was given by the Holy Prophet"?" and that was the medicine of love: he-sa.ws joined your hearts with love. Your hearts were filled with love; once the link to the Holy Propher"?" was lost, so were gone the feelings of love. Every person became enemy of the other; "Every body is here to kill every body," this was the reply to a journalist's question to an officer on the battlefield of the World War. Everyone present there was up to killing the other. The officer had surely put it in a nutshell.

Is the same situation not true of us today? Why? It is because those emotions of love are escaping from our hearts. The Kalimah alone was enough for filling the heart with that emotion. Yet, despite the opportunity to worship, recitation and the distinction of receiving the blessings

HIM and to express one's longing and desire before HIM is a different state. The requirement of Faith is that this should be the condition of every Muslim. The one and the only way to develop

this desire is through the blessings of the Holy Prophet"?". '"

The Prophetic teachings tell about Allah, HIS -Self and Attributes, (whilst) the blessings of the Prophet"?" developed a longing for Ailah in the heart and kindled a fire of love. The blessings of the Holy Prophet"?" fuelled the desire of union, and a handful of dust (human being) lit the candle of the love for Allah: a dependant, humble soul up in front of a Being that has no parable! Yet to a degree, he carries that desire of union for which he remains restless and cries for HIM; wants to meet HIM and be there in front of HIM and this, in fact, is the distinction of the Faith, Humans are strange in that even during the time of the Holy Prophet"?" there were those who remained devoid of these blessings. As time passed, the states and feelings of passion kept changing; love was long lost, traditions and rituals took its place and various means of fulfilling formalities took shape. The world has once again fallen into the quagmire of misguidance. Now, answer a question with due comprehension and understanding: have all those deprived of the Deen of Allah, not returned to the same age of ignorance out of which the Holy Prophet"?" had recovered them from their animal1ife and restored them to their original humans status? What was the life of those people with no sense of dress and no principle of relations of friendship or animosity? The stronger oppressed the weaker, the nobles used to let predators loose on the poor for the sake of entertainment and felt happy in killing and shedding blood. Is today's picture not the same? Who had turned wild animals back into humans and why humans are turning back into wild animals? Leave the infidels alone; even over here the places of worship are not safe from those who claim to be the people of the Kalimah. Mosques are being bombed, markets are being sniped and no one knows whom have they killed and why! School bus is bombed without realising whose kids are being blown up and why. There is no reason but there is just the wanton instinct to kill; a wild, _ ferocious behaviour! Just the other day I was watching (a television programme on) wildlife, in which the rapacious behaviour of predators was being explained. A wounded limping lioness was shown. It fell at one point whilst another big lion instantly grabbed it by neck and killed it. The coinmentator explained that h.e wasn't going to eat the lioness, but since he saw a wounded animal, his 'desire to kill surfaced and he killed her without any need. She wasn't his food and moreover she belonged to the same species. But he had a killing instinct, a desire to kill others. That IS the basis of his life. Has this killing instinct not found its way to

humans now, who kill and enjoy watching the dying bodies? -

Such was the state of people when the Holy Prophet-SAws came. The same killing instinct was prevalent. Humans had the urge to kill, and the earth was a killing ground. Every oppressor was tearing the weak apart. The blessings of the Holy Prophet."?" filled their hearts with love anti turned them into brothers, who began to sacrifice for each other. Why has the same instinct to kill and shed blood risen up again today? It is because people have become distant -from the fountainhead of love (the Holy Prophet"?"), and the violent urges (of the age of ignorance) have resurfaced. In the current age the code of dressing, means of commute have all changed but the underling objective remains the same; the manner of killing has also changed (over the period of time) but the basic instinct of killing and enjoy watching writhing bodies is the same. Whoever forsakes (the door of) the Holy Prophet=?", he may happen to be the so-called Muslim, develops the malicious impulse of violence and murder. Those who do Jihad for the sake of Allah's religion and for their rights are distinct. They're not oppressors but they sacrifice their own lives. Jihad is distinct from carnage. I am not referring to Mujahidin. Jihad has been made obligatory since the office of the Prophet";" and shall remain obligatory till the Day of Judgement. Jihad is

yet kept repeating. 'What YOU have said is true!' Therefore.iit is the feeling called love that is acceptable in HIS Presence. Faith is the name of this love when it develops for Allah and HIS Prophet"?". The Holy Prophet"?" has said that a person may develop the love for Allah by developing love for those who mention about Allah in a manner that is akin to seeing Allah ..•

There have' been thinkers, researchers, scholars as well as philosophers; but no one knew during the Fatrat (Intermission: temporary suspension of deputation of Prophets, the period spanning approximately 570 years, between Prophet Jesus-AS and the holy Prophet Muhammad."?") that Allah exists, where is HE and what is HE. But the Holy Prophet"?" described this in a manner that even an illiterate herdsman, who has recited the Kalimah, knows for sure that Allah exists; HE is near him, watching and listening to him. Such is (the degree of) the cognisance granted by the Holy Prophet";" that even an illiterate person of this deteriorated time, who has declared the Kalimah, knows that Allah exists; HE is sustaining him, and to HIM is his return. Hence the proof of Faith is developing immense love for Allah. The Holy Prophet"?" has said: "No one amongst you can be a believer unless he loves me more than his parents, siblings, offspring and all the human beings on earth". One cannot be a believer otherwise. The love of the Holy Prophet."?" is the conduit of the love towards Allah. As for the love of the Holy Prophet"?", anyone and everyone who recognised him-SAWS got absorbed in his-SAWS love. What else shall a person achieve if has not achieved that recognition?

During the time of the Holy Prophet"?" some people remained devoid of the Faith and this saddened him because he-SAWS was sent for the (guidance of) entire mankind and he felt for the deprivation of these people. Allah Kareem responded to this: "Such unfortunate are these people that they look at you but are unable to see you", that is when they look at him they see Muhammad, the son of Abdullah, but they are unable to see Muhammad the Messenger of Allah. They perceive him as one of the sons of their Qureshi brother, a member of their clan and society who wants to rule over them and outdo everyone. But they are unable to see Muhammad the Messenger of Allah; unable to perceive the grace of the office of the Prophet"?". The same realization was reflected in the prayer .of the Holy Prophet"?" when he prayed in favour of the people of the city of Ta'if: "0 Allah! Do not crush the mountain (upon them) and forgive them for they do not know; they fought against one of their neighbours, for if they knew me as Allah's Prophet they would have not behaved this way". Hence if one has the recognition and cognition of the Holy Prophet"?"; one Islam is the traditional Islam, which stil1 is a billion times better than no Islam at all. Thanks to Allah, we were born in Muslim families; at times we offer Salat by chance, discriminate lawful against unlawful to an extent, and are also aware of death and have belief in the Day of Judgement. If Allah accepts, this is enough for redemption. However, redemption is another matter and to converse with, Allah and HIS Beloved"?", and to be enslaved in love, and to attain the longing for that union and to writhe in that desire is another matter; to just pass one's days is different. Allah has declared that HE will not forgive an infidel and HIS declaration is the Truth, but if HE does pardon an infidel, would anyone of us be able to stop him? Who could have stopped him? It is HIS decision, for HE pardons without any reason, because there is no limit to HIS forgiveness. To achieve Salvation is a great achievement. "Whoever remained safe from the Hell achieved great success". This is one thing but to experience the pain of love is something else. To die writhing in HIS love is different and, to keep vigils for HIS sake and to visit mosque in HIS desire means something else. To fulfil the requirements of Salah, Hamd, Qir' at, Ruku' and Sajdah makes the prayer valid, may HE accept that; but to be able to say each and every word (of the prayer) as if facing HIM and to perform. each prostration in front of HIM carries different effects. To be able to share rhe feelings with

(of the execution) of his dream and the Command that (he thought) he had failed to comply with, for Ismail." was standing there, unhurt.

It was then that Allah Kareem said: "You have fulfilled-your dream. It was up to ME to replace Ismail with a ram from the Heaven. That was MY act but you have surely executed your dream". It was only a test of love. Why would Allah need. to get people slaughtered? When we perform the ritual of sacrifice HE says (in response to it): animals' blood or flesh does not reach Allah; but the emotion with which you make the sacrifice. HE wants to see the state and the feelings of love with which you comply with HIS Command. It is not that your sacrificial meat will fill HIS stock or that HE is fond of animals' blood. It is notso! HE observes th€ feelings, the emotions and the state of Qalb with you make the sacrifice; are you just fulfilling a formality, selecting a suitable animal to sacrifice in the way of Allah, with your own hands.

One of the greatest proofs of the Faith, is the love for Allah. Faith is synonymous with cognisance, recognition and acceptance. This cognition was accorded by Muhammadv?" the Messenger of Allah: the great personality who enabled a human to directly cOIIlIl?-unicate with God. He-SAWS elevated a handful of dust (a human being) to the Presence of Almighty Allah. How gracious is Allah and how illustrious and gracious was HIS Messenger'r?"! Anyone who got associated with him-SAWS, he-SAWS brought him in direct contact with Allah by telling him, 'stand with me, prostrate before Allah with me, address HIM, relate your distress to HIM, share your thoughts with HIM, as well as listen to HIM; study HIS Book to know what HE says to you,' Quran is like a letter from Allah to HIS slaves. Normally, we skim through Quran just for the sake of reward. We read through it only to add to' our good deeds. That is all fine. But once a while, you should read it as a letter that has come to you from Allah. Everything written therein is for me. All (that is in the Quran) is (addressed) to me; what does the Quran expect of me, what does it stop me from and what does it command me to- do? If you study the Quran like this for yourself, you will surely find it a different Quran, and if you study it only for- the sake of reward,

it will be a different Quran. '

Some one related an incident to me that once a canal was being dug when a cemetery came in the way. It was an old cemetery with demolished graves along one side. Graves are usually earthen and get demolished in a few years time.' Both the engineer and the artisan (at work) were Muslims. Of course they couldn't divert the whole canal because of the cemetery, so they decided to pass it through .the part where the ground had been levelled with apparently no signs left (of any grave). But they did come across a grave; when it was dug open, it revealed a fully intact body. Shoot of a tree's root ran above its face issuing drops of a liquid into its mouth and there was immense fragrance (emanating from the grave). They were all shocked, closed the

, grave immediately, marked it and redirected the conduit of the canal so as to bypass it. The engineer became curious, for he thought the person (in the grave) must have done something special (in his life) because prayers and fasting is a routine of every other Muslim; there must also be some other reason. Searching, he reached the dead person's village and found that his old wife was still alive. He, asked her if she ever saw her husband do something that people normally didn't do. She replied that her husband was illiterate and could not read the Quran; yet, every day he sat with Quran opened in front of him; sliding his finger over the lines, he used to say: "Allah! What YOU said here is true. Allah! What YOU said here is also true." In this manner, he verified every line of the 'Quran and spent hours like this every day. Abundance of recitation doesn't matter to Allah; HE accepted the feeling which caused that illiterate person to believe in the truth of something he could not even understand. He could not read it, didn't understand its meaning

one ever remains hungry here." It is due to his prayer that within the premises of Makkah where masses gather up to three and a half million at one time, no one feels deprived of anything. Any fruit of the world, any blessing, any dress, you name it and you shall find it here; there is no I limitation of seasons, any fruit of any season.. anything! No Haji can ever complain that he wanted something but didn't find it there. Such is the state of abundance that Allah Kareem

bestows! "

(

Anyway, you know the whole event. He dreamt that the Spring of Zam Zam had issued forth. When passing caravans saw water and flying birds, a few of them settled over there. Gradually the area started to populate. Prophet Ibrahim:" then saw in another dream that he was slaughtering Hadhrat Ismail?". He went there once again; but he didn't discuss his dream with his wife, although there was no deficiency in her love or in the level of her patience. But, the capacity to comprehend Divine Revelation is an exclusive attribute of a Prophet and she was not a Prophetess; no woman has ever been a Prophetess. Therefore, the religious authority and leadership do not rest with women. Even though the women of this age have become leaders, but Allah hasn't granted leadership to them; there has been no Prophethood among them .. The manner in which the scholars of the present time are inferring the meanings of traditions and narratives on the basis of the knowledge of Arabic language and grammar is not correct. Only that meaning of the Revelation is authentic as told by the Holy Prophet"?", and as understood by his Companions who acted upon it in his presence and he"sAws approved of. To derive any meanings based on logic, grammar or any other source is totally wrong and worthless. It is because comprehension of Revelation is the exclusive attribute of a Prophet. Here, the father is an Exalted Messenger and so is the son.

When he grew up to walk around whilst holding on to finger (of an adult); a Prophet is always a Prophet; the office of Prophet had been distributed since eternity, Its manifestation being a different

affair; a Prophet remains a Prophet-from the Beginning to the End, he may be sent to the world at any time. Once they were out of Makkah, Prophet Ibrahim:" told his son: "I have had a strange dream: I have dreamt that I am slaughtering you." The young. Messenger of Allah replied, "Father! The dreams of a Prophet are Divine revelations. Although it is a dream, but actually you're being commanded. This dream is like a Command for you. Just do as you are being commanded. Let my being too young not deter you. I am also a Prophet of Allah. Allah willing you shall find me steadfast. I shall not cry.out". Now this is a strange test of love: an aged father is ready to slaughter his son and an innocent child is willing to have his neck severed. Why? It is the love of Allah that is causing this to happen. It is Allah's will and Command, and it must come to pass. And HE is so Independent! Absolute that at one point HE says: WE revealed the dominion of the heavens and the earth before Ibrahim, but here HE didn't tell him that it wasn't Ismail"As who was going to be slaughtered in effect! If you tell some one that finally it is not his son but the ram that will be slaughtered and he needs to lay his son down only to imitate the .act, then anyone can make such sacrifice. However, none of the Prophets there was told this. The one about to be slaughtered is prepared (knowing) thatit is he who shall be slaughtered and is ready to have his neck severed and so is the one who is slaughtering. Hence Prophet Ibrahim." ran the knife, reciting Bismillah-e Allah-o Akbar and shooting off loads of blood. It was only after the writhing body, had settled that he opened his eyes to find thai a ram had been

slaughtered instead, whilst Ismail:" was standing aside. Confounded, he feared what had become

gallows, but the love for power remains etched on their hearts. Devastation of the whole family, murder of father or brothers does not deter their pursuit of power. They don't stop even at that.

One of the major proofs of the Faith is that all of these innate feelings of love towards offspring, parents, friends, and to an extent towards wealth, self respect and esteem, and fame and popularity-c-: others with the' love of knowledge who spend their lives going from place to place in the pursuit of knowledge; Allah. Kareem has said that one of the major proofs of the belief is that those who have the light of the Faith, love Allah to an extent that overwhelms every other shade of emotion called love. Lots of dearly things are lost but the desire to attain closeness with Allah remains undeterred. We perform the ritual of sacrifice, which apparently is a normal activity, and nowadays we just complete a formality where we ask someone else to buy and perform the sacrifice on our behalf thinking it has been (properly) executed. But if we try and look deeply into (the .reality of) it we shall find a strange feeling of abundance of love in this ritual. Prophet Ibrahim." went through a perpetual series of tests, each being more intense than the preceding one, from the time of his birth till his demise. His parents abandoned him; the king (of his time) tried to punish him and conspired to murder him. He travelled long distances. His wife Hajirah, whom he loved very much, bore him a child when his hair was silver grey. He was then commanded (by Allah) to abandon the mother and the child in the wilds amongst mountains to be identified by Angel Gabriele. Bait-Allah (the House of God) was lifted during the .flood of the Noah-AS and so was Hijr-e Aswad (the Black Stone), and since the Bait-Allah had completely vanished, Prophet Ibrahim." rebuilt it on exactly the same foundations. But initially there used to be a hill surrounded by a brook that had many tributaries joining it with water escaping from the

other end. .'

In deserted mountains with no flora or fauna within the immediate surroundings and no sign, of water, Prophet Ibrahim" set off with his beloved son and beloved wife, his companion through the ups and downs of his life and his partner in every sacrifice (that came their way). The commentators of the Holy Quran have described that wherever they stationed (during the journey) Prophet Ibrahim:" thought they had reached the destination. He would ask Angel Gabriele if that was the destination (to settle the family), and he would tell them to continue. It was after a very long journey that they.reached the place where the Bait-Allah is now situated in Makkah. What a great servant of Allah! He left the infant and his mother with a few dates, some food and a small leather bag of water! Hadhrat Hajirah asked, "for which crime are we being punished that you are leaving us all alone in wilds? There's no water, nor the sight of any bird flying around; no tree 'and no other flora; scorching heat and sunshine with no shade; on whose reliance are you leaving us here?" The only sentence Prophet Ibrahim?" said was: "I am being commanded by Allah." The wife of the Prophet replied: "then HE shan't waste us!"

What strange connection was this, that with no apparent resources, no water, and no sight of birds, a woman and an infant all-alone in wilds where there was no population other than that of the predators; a desert with no signs of human population, is a home for predators. The sight of birds flying around is a common fact known referring to a shore 50-100 miles ahead in case of an ocean and to an oasis in case of a desert. But there was no sight of any bird in that place. When Prophet Ibrahim?" departed he carried himself courageously, without any sign of weakness. Once he was out of their sight, he stood up in prayer before his Lord: "0 Allah! I am leaving my everything in the wilds. It is only YOU who can look after them and tend them, protect them and rear them; make this place (of abandonment) a centre and raise YOUR servants in my lineage and in-his. There is nothing here; may YOU provide for such abundance of subsistence that no

The Proof of Faith:

Intensity .of Love for Allah

Translated Speech of

His Eminence Arneer Muhammad Akrarn A wan Shaikh Silsilah Naqshbandiah Owaisiah Dar-ul-Irfan

Whoever leaves the "door" of the Holy Prophet"?", he may happen to be a so-called Muslim, develops a malicious impulse of violence and murder. Those who do Jihad for the' sake of Allah's religion and for their rights are different. They are not oppressors but they sacrifice their own lives. Jihad is distinct from carnage. I am not referring to Mujahidin. Jihad has been made obligatory since the office of the Prophet"?" and shall remain obligatory till the Day of Judgement. Jihad is for the sake of combating oppression, destruction, and for replacing the darkness of ignorance with light. But it is certainly not Jihad to bomb places of worship and 'to open fire on innocent people in public. It is not Jihad but is massacre, a quality synonymous with the ignorant and oppressors of every time as well as those of today.

Those granted with the light of Fruth develop the most intense and strongest (feeling of) love with Allah. It is a strange fact that love is a feeling that develops in Qalb; it is a state that casts its effects on heart and the heart (consequently) writhes (in the longing) for the beloved. But one can only develop the feeling of love in response to a particular quality (of the beloved). How can one love someone he does not know or whom he has not seen or heard? Cognisance is the prerequisite of love; knowledge and recognition (of the beloved) are necessary. One may fall for someone's voice', lips or face; one may consider some one's figure. The effects of some personalities are such that the person falling in love may not even realize the reason of his love: it may be the face or voice or any other quality but there wi11 definitely be something that he fell for.. We all experience such (states of) love in varying degrees. We love our offspring, and even their petty problems greatly upset us; we want to give them all facilities of life. Fortunate people love their parents, whom they serve and want to see them happy.in every respect. We also love our friends and at times sacrifice our life and property for the sake of friendship. During a friend's adversity, we may present to him all that we have. All this is a routine of every day life; it is not something that a person doesn't understand. Some fall in love with wealth; following its course they forget all relations; indiscriminate of lawful against unlawful; focussed solely on the acquisition of wealth, counting each penny earned or spent. Some fall in love with power for which they invest every penny they own. They may rot in jail for whole life or even reach the
