I. BACKGROUND DATA

A. Origin .qryL Scopg.

The BMG is a small groirp.of individuals expelled
from the Young Socialist ALl idnce- (VSA) _ in tr'Iashingroir', D, C . ,
during July, T974, This expulsion resulted from an. ideol, ogical
dispute between YSA and BMG concerning the Int,ernational
Tendency ( f t) of BMG members.
(na r-2 on L2/L2/74)
(Chara etrerLzations of YSA and IT are cgtl-
Lain'ed in the Appendix attached hereto)
On October 25, L975, and October 26, L975, the
IT held their National Conference in.BalLimore, l.Iaryland.
During this conference the name Revolutionary tlarxi-sL

the loeal groups, including the BMG decided to conLinue

to use their own names for identifieation. During this
conference it was decided that, RMOC vrould have no-national

(ee r-3 on IL/3/75)
B. *ilns and gbjecg"ives
BMG is part of the IT faction of the Socialist
Workers Party (SWE'). BMGf s aims and objectives follow
those of SWP- inasmueh as they approve of the overthrow
of the U.S. Government and the insLiLuLion of a dictabor-
ship of the working class and Lhe evenLual achievement of
a Gbmmunist society. BMG does not openly advocate the use
of violence at the- present t,ime Lo overthrow the U. S. Govef,rr-
ment; it believes that, evenEual violent revolution in the
U. S. is inevitabl,e. BMG, however I disagrees with the SI^IP
on Lwo major is_sues which makes it part of the IT. These
issue.s are as f ollows:
The SI'IP advoeates that maj'ox recruiting br
mrlrmbership should occur in educatioiai instiLuti6ns such
as collegEs and universities, whereas the IT and BMG
professeE the main focus of iecruitment should be coo-
centrated directly on workers in industry.
The SWP refused to support the advocacy of the
use of guerrilLa acLivities by ievoluLionaries in Soulh
-other
Anerical Central Arnerica and areas, whereas the IT
and BMG advocates such activity.
(na r-3 on LL/3/IS)
(A characterizationd SI,ilP is. conbained in
d,tre Appendix attached hereto)
