He Being Dead Yet Speaketh. A gathering of quotes by individual Christian men and women from the past - These are uploaded on the anniversary of their ‘falling asleep’ and intended to inspire us, as we read their words, to follow their good example. They are also meant to further encourage us to read more of their works.

 (Heb.11:4)

Arthur W. PinkDied15th July 1952

Nothing is too great and nothing is too small to commit into thehands of the Lord.

F
aith is that which gives God his proper place.

W
e must distinguish between things that differ, namely, aknowledge of spiritual things and actual spiritual knowledge. Theone is merely intellectual and theoretical; the other is vital andeffectual.

C
alvary is the supreme demonstration of Divine love.
W
henever you are tempted to doubt the love of God,
C
hristian reader, goback to
C
alvary.

A
prayerless
C
hristian is a contradiction in terms.

I
nstead of complaining at his lot, a contented man is thankful thathis condition and circumstances are no worse than they are.
I
nstead of greedily desiring something more than the supply of hispresent need, he rejoices that God still cares for him.

Love is the Queen of the
C
hristian graces.

U
nless our ¶Bible study· is conforming us, both inwardly andoutwardly, to the image of
C
hrist, it profits us not.

The prevailing idea seems to be, that
I
come to God and ask Himfor something that
I
want, and that
I
expect Him to give me thatwhich
I
have asked. But this is a most dishonouring and degadingconception. The popular belief reduces God to a servant, ourservant: doing our bidding, performing our pleasure, granting ourdesires. No, prayer is a coming to God, telling Him my need, committing my way unto the Lord, and leaving Him to deal with itas seemeth Him best.

God has given us his
W
ord not only to instruct us but to direct us.

M
ost
C
hristians expect little from God, ask little, and thereforereceive little and are content with little.

 The nature of
C
hrist's salvation is woefully misrepresented by thepresent-day evangelist. He announces a Saviour from Hell ratherthan a Saviour from sin.
A
nd that is why so many are fatally deceived, for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of fire who have no desire to be delivered from their carnality andworldliness.

W
hat is sin? Sin is a species of rebellion against God.
I
t is self-pleasing: it is the utter ignoring of God's claims: being completely indifferent whether my conduct pleases or displeases Him.

A
consciousness of our powerlessness should cast us upon Himwho has all power.

God cannot change for the better, for He is already perfect; andbeing perfect, He cannot change for the worse.
