Actually it has officially been renamed Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month.

So heres the contest


1. A total of 15 delegates from Asia, Africa, America, and Europe meet at an international
conference to discuss global climate change. Each continent sends a different number of
delegates, and each is represented by at least 1 delegate. Asia and America send a total of 6
delegates. Asia and Europe send a total of 7 delegates. Which continent has sent 4
delegates?

2. In the following magic square, each horizontal row, each vertical column, and each of the two
diagonals have a sum of 34. Each number can only occur once. Use the integers 5 through
16 to complete the magic square.

by Monday, April 17.
The contest is open to any GRCC student or staff member. Of all the correct entries, two students and
two staff will be randomly drawn to receive a prize.
