This publication aims to provide UNICEF staff and partners a clear explanation of what works to promote positive adolescent development in the region. It uses programme examples in the region that focus on the five areas of work that UNICEF prioritizes for adolescent development: expanding child friendly schools and spaces, promoting sport for development, focusing on skills for life and citizenship, building protective environments, and encourage positive and “ready” family and community settings.
