The International Day for Tolerance is an annual observance declared by UNESCO in 1995to generate public awareness of the dangers of intolerance.It is observed on 16 November.The International Day for Tolerance is a time for people to learn about respecting and recognizingthe rights and beliefs of others. It is also a time of reflection and debate on the negative effects of intolerance. Live discussions and debates take place across the world on this day, focusing onhow various forms of injustice, oppression, racism and unfair discrimination have a negative impacton society.Tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world‘s cultures,our forms of expression and ways of being human. It is fostered by knowledge, openness,communication, and freedom of thought, conscience and belief.Tolerance is harmony in difference which contributes to the replacement of the culture of war by a culture of peace which is our main them.

We, Friends of the United Nations Asia-Pacific will host the Music Festival to promoting, supportingand educating to make people

understand issues centered on tolerance, human rights and non-violencethrough Music!We have held Music events since 2008 to enlighten the important issues that the UN works for andmore than 20,000 people participated.This year, we will hold the Music event at Universal Studio Japan in Osaka, and it will be caughtMedia’s big attention more than ever.
