Thereby adopt Hearing Officer Nieters’ Reports and Recommendations in their entirety Pursuant to my authority under Article XVII, Section 2(f) of the SEIU Constitution, I hereby remove Sister Cherie Mancini from her position as Local 1107 President, bar her from holding office for one (1) year, and suspend her from membership in SEIU for six (6) months, effective April 26, 2017. Further, pursuant to my authority under Article XVII, Section 2(f) of the SEIU Constitution, I hereby remove Sister Sharon Kisling from her position as Local 1107 Executive Vice President, bar her from holding office for one (1) year, and suspend her from membership in SEIU for six (6) months, effective April 26, 2017. With regard to the Hearing Officer's Report and Recommendation on Internal Needs, I am taking her recommendation under advisement and I have asked International Executive Vice President Neal Bisno and Deputy Chief of Staff Deedee Fitzpatrick to attend the Local 1107 Executive Board mecting scheduled for this evening, April 26, 2017, in order to discuss how the Local can move forward in the way that best serves its members. I would ask that you accommodate this request and allow Brother Bisno to address the Executive Board in executive session. Further, given the removal of local union officers, and pursuant to my authority under Article VIII, Section 7(g) of the SEIU Constitution, I am appointing International staff members Kathy Eddy and Steve Ury as Monitors to assist Local 1107 leaders, staff and members with carrying out the Local’s priorities and commitments. The Monitors must be given notice of and access to all leadership and membership meetings at Local 1107, access to information and records at their request, and will be available to meet with Local 1107 officers, Executive Board members, staff and members.
