Cub Cheers: Way to go to the students in Ms. Schwartzs Class, they did our
Friday Morning Announcements and were super! Congratulations to the
following students for receiving Cox Cub of the Week: Dylan Fuel,
Chelsea Stutsman, Michael Steffen, Lennyn Jimenez-Campoya,
Makenzie Niewinski, Elisabeth Bellante, Eugene Beltran, Kobe White,
Lilia Murray, Jacob Damore, Cody Byrd, Arya Anilkumar, Amari Davis,
Carmen Dian, and Kirous Younan.

Annual DMC Parent Survey: Parents, please turn in the yellow school
surveys sent home last week. Friday, the 12th is the final day. We would
really like your input on operating procedures on our campus! Even if you
have a 5th grader this year, your opinion still matters to future decisions.
School Organizational Team: Our May SOT meeting is, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 5 pm in the Library. The meeting notice
and agenda will be posted by Friday. FINAL PTA Meeting: The May PTA meeting is Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 6:00 pm in
the Library.

Milers News: Congratulations to Mrs. Teena Nuestro for finishing 100 miles! Congratulations to Carl LoBue for finishing
200 miles! WOW! Congratulations to the following Milers Drawing Winners: Mrs. Teena Nuestro, Madeline Smith,
Mary Glasser, Russell Truman, Abigail Theodosis, Arya Anilkumar, Alex Spencer, and Cooper Martin! Dont forget the
FINAL DAY OF MILERS IS MAY 19TH!

Thank You Families: We would like to thank our students, families, and PTA for the wonderful treats, goodies, lunches, and
gifts given last week during Teacher Appreciation Week! It meant a lot to us and we felt very spoiled! HUGE Thank you!

PTA Reminder: As previously posted, the final day to purchase a yearbook was May 1 st. There will be a VERY limited
amount for sale at the end of the year. The yearbook company does not reprint after sales are done, nor do they keep our books
on file.

Popcorn Winner Update: Tomorrow 25 winning students will be having lunch with local police and military agencies at
school for their Heroes Luncheon. Monday, the 15th, the Gaming Truck will be on site for the students who sold 12 or
more items, and May 24th 7 classes will partake in the Toilet Paper Dodgeball for having the highest dollar and item
amounts sold.

SBAC Update: Our testing is underway and to date we have 3 third grades complete and 2 fifth grades complete. The kids are
really doing a great job and the computers have been cooperating! We are so proud of our kids here at Cox!

Moms & Muffins: This Friday at 8:30 in the MP Room we will be celebrating Mothers and Grandmothers with our students.
Please bring your student and join us for pastries to celebrate Mothers Day on Sunday!

Staffing Update: As previously posted in past Newsletters, staffing and staffing within grade levels are always subject to
change (even right up to the first day of school). There is NO form to submit for requesting teachers, please write a letter to
administration or send an email, it will be date stamped by the front office and submitted to Mrs. Imboden. We are accepting
parent letters for teacher requests, please select a first and second choice. Letters and/or emails without 2 choices will be
not be accepted. Due to possible staffing changes, your request may not be granted.

ALL REQUESTS MUST BE MADE BY MAY 19TH. NO REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER FRIDAY,
MAY 19TH.
If your child is placed in a requested classroom and that teacher leaves over the summer, you will NOT get your second
choice; your child will be placed based on student count. REQUESTS ARE NOT A GUARANTEED PLACEMENT. As of
