ِا َِـْا ِّا ِِْ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the MostMerciful.
َُْـََْأ ََأ ِا َِِﺱ َ ْاوََو ْاوََُآ َیِا
47:1 Those who disbelieve and hinder (men) fromthe path of Allah, He will render their deeds vain.
َلُ َِ ْاَُﻡاَءَو ِـَِـا ْاََُِو ْاَُﻡاَء َیِاَو
ِِْـََﺱ َُْْ ََآ ِْر ِﻡ َْا َُهَو ٍَُﻡ ََ
ََُْ َََْأَو
47:2 But those who believe and do righteous gooddeeds, and believe in that which is sent down toMuhammad -- for it is the truth from their Lord --He expiates from them their sins and amends theirBal.

ْاَُﻡاَء َیِا نَأَو َِـَْا ْاَُﺕا ْاوََُآ َیِا نَِ ََِذ
ِْر ِﻡ َْا ْاَُﺕا
47:3 That is because those who disbelieve followfalsehood, while those who believe follow the truthfrom their Lord.
َُْـَْﻡَأ ِسِ ُا ُبَِْی َََِآ
Thus does Allah set forth for mankind theirparables.
The Reward of the Disbelievers and the Believers,
Allah says.
اوََُآ َیِا...
Those who disbelieve, (meaning, in the Ayat of Allah).
...اوََو ...
and hinder (men) (Others).
...َََُْْأ ََأ ِا َِِﺱ َ

from the path of Allah, He will render their deeds vain.meaning, He renders their deeds vain and futile,and He denies them any rewards or blessings forthem. This is similar to His saying,
ﻡ ًءََه ََََُْ ٍََ ِْﻡ ْاَُِ َﻡ َِإ َْﻡََِو ًارُ
And We will approach what they have done of deeds and make them as dispersed dust. (25:23)Allah then says,
ِتَِا اََُِو اَُﻡ َیِاَو ...
And those who believe and do righteous good deeds,

Which means that their hearts and souls havebelieved, and their limbs and their hidden andapparent acts have complied with Allah's Law.
...ٍَُﻡ ََ َلُ َِ اَُﻡَو ...
And believe in that which has been sent down toMuhammad,Adding this statement to the previous one is amethod of adding a specific meaning to a generalone. This provides proof that after Muhammad'sadvent, believing in him is a required conditionfor the true faith.Allah then says,
...ِْر ِﻡ َْا َُهَو ...
For it is the truth from their Lord.which is a beautifully placed parenthetical clause.Thus, Allah says,
...ََُْ َََْأَو ِِْﺕََﺱ َُْْ ََآ

He expiates from them their sins and amends their

.Ibn Abbas, said,"This means their matter.''Mujahid said,"This means their affair.''Qatadah and Ibn Zayd both said,"Their condition.''And all of these are similar in meaning.It has been mentioned (from the Prophet) in the Hadithof the responding to one who sneezes,
