Revealed in Makkah
ِِا ِـَْا ِا ِِْ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the MostMerciful.
َاَو
93:1 By the forenoon.
ََﺱ اَذِإ ِْاَو
93:2 By the night when it darkens.
ََ َﻡَو ََر ََدَو َﻡ
93:3 Your Lord has neither forsaken you nor hatesyou.
َوا َِﻡ َ ٌَْ ُةَََِو
93:4 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you thanthe present.

َﺽََْ ََر َُِْی َفَََْو
93:5 And verily, your Lord will give you so that youshall be well-pleased.
ىَوَ ًَِی َكَِْی ََْأ
93:6 Did He not find you an orphan and gave you arefuge?
ىَََ َﺽ َكََﺝَوَو
93:7 And He found you unaware and guided you.
َََْ ًَِ َكََﺝَوَو
93:8 And He found you poor and made you rich.
ََْْﺕ ََ ََِْا ﻡََ
93:9 Therefore, treat not the orphan withoppression.
ََْْﺕ ََ َِا ﻡَأَو
93:10 And repulse not the one who asks.
ْثََ ََر َِِِْ ﻡَأَو
93:11 And proclaim the grace of your Lord.
The Reason for the Revelation of Surah Ad-Duha
Imam Ahmad recorded from Jundub that he said,"The Prophet became ill, so he did not stand for prayerfor a night or two. Then a woman came and said,`O Muhammad! I think that your devil has finally leftyou.'

So Allah revealed,
َاَو
ََﺱ اَذِإ ِْاَو
ََ َﻡَو ََر ََدَو َﻡ
By the forenoon.
By the night when it darkens.Your Lord has neither forsaken you nor hates you.Al-Bukhari, Muslim, At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasa'i, Ibn Abi Hatim andIbn Jarir, all recorded this Hadith.ThisJundub(who narrated it) is Ibn `Abdullah Al-Bajali Al-`Alaqi. In a narration from Al-Aswad bin Qays, he said that heheardJundubsay that Jibril was slow in coming to theMessenger of Allah . So the idolators said,"Muhammad's Lord has abandoned him.''So Allah revealed,

By the forenoon. By the night when it darkens. Your Lordhas neither forsaken you nor hates you.Al-`Awfi reported from Ibn Abbas,"When the Qur'an was revealed to the Messenger of Allah, Jibril was delayed from coming to him for anumber of days (on one occasion). Therefore, theMessenger of Allah was affected by this. Then theidolators began to say, `His Lord has abandoned himand hates him.' So Allah revealed,
دَو َََ ََو ََر ََ
Your Lord has neither forsaken you nor hates you.''In this, Allah is swearing by the forenoon and the lightthat He has placed in it.
ََ اَذِإ ِْﻝاَو
By the night when itdarkens
