Literacy for Life believes that every Northern Nevadan deserves the chance to succeed at life, for themselves, their families and the community. But without the ability to read, success is often just a distant dream. The third annual Literacy for Life Golf Tournament fundraiser is working to ensure that every Northern Nevada child and adult has the opportunity to learn to read. The award-winning program provides grants for local nonprofit literacy providers, and supports the News in Education program, sponsored by the Nevada Appeal. This program has been working to improve reading skills in Carson City schools for more than 20 years. With the rising illiteracy rate in Nevada, its mission is more critical than ever. Support this effort today by sponsoring the Literacy for Life 2011 Golf Tournament. Funds raised will provide valuable curriculum to area schools and will support effective community programs created to teach adults to read.
