After watching Danny try to eat something Katie had forced him to take her work. Marcy was sitting at her desk when Katie entered the office and on seeing Katie Marcy jumped up and rushed towards her friend “JR was pissed…” Marcy stopped and stared at her friend “my god, you like hell” Marcy declared as Katie nodded before she walked towards the woman’s toilet followed by Marcy.

“Three” Marcy exclaimed while she lent against the sink counter “yes three bodies, the youngest being nineteen year old. They all had their hearts taking out” Katie told her as Marcy nodded while taking in the information. Katie washed her hands then grabbed a couple of paper towels and dried her hands. When she threw the towels in the bin Katie looked at Marcy and folded her arms “remember last year, you had to help my friend out of a jam” Marcy held a hand up “you forced me to help him, I remember not having a choice” Marcy corrected as Katie waved a hand “not the point, the point is, he won’t talk about any of the packs he knows. Says it’s too risky,” “Katie this is not getting to the point, I remember this guy. What do you want” Marcy asked firmly causing Katie to take a deep breath “I need you to speak to him on my behalf” Katie asked as Marcy groaned “please, he won’t talk to me about this, I need your help” Katie was not good a pleading but Marcy hated turning her friends down, so after one look at Katie’s pleading face she gave in and nodded “ok, give me his number and the questions you want asked” Marcy groaned as Katie smiled at her friend before she hugged her then pulled back “I’ll give you a list of questions, tell him that Jason sent you” Katie told her as Marcy shook her head “he can smell a lie,” Marcy pointed out as Katie smiled “well I’m working for Julius and Julius told Jason to get me, so in a way Jason did send you” Katie knew that was a long stretch and so did Marcy from she raised an eyebrow as to say ‘not a chance in hell’. But Katie pulled the same face she used with her parents “fine, but you can take over my fairy removal. The stuff is the cupboard,” Marcy ordered as she walked towards the door followed by Katie.

For Katie the fairy removal had taken no more then two hours, it would have take far less time if she had her mind on the job and not allowed the fairies to get the better of her. The drive from the affected area was long and boring giving Katie plenty time to think. Unfortunately for Katie she could only think about the poor pups that had died in such a brutal manner, but she found it easy to believe that it could happen in today’s civilization. With these thoughts still in her mind Katie made the long trudge up the stairs to the office. The cold winds whipping at her face as she struggled out of the jeep, ice patches reminding her of her fall the previous night. And once Katie made it to the office she saw Marcy sitting behind her desk speaking on the phone, she glanced up at Katie who was hobbling across the room and nodded. By the time Katie had removed her coat and hanged it up Marcy had finished her conversation and was now leaning back in her chair “you need a cell phone my dear” Marcy mutter whilst Katie slipped in to her chair and caught her heavy head in her hands “did you get what I asked for” Katie mumbled into her hands causing Marcy to sit forward and frown at what Katie had just muttered “what” she asked causing Katie to sigh then slowly lift her head a few inches and stare at her “did you get what I asked for” Katie repeated slowly again causing Marcy to raise her eyebrows but say nothing as she reached into her pocket and fish out a piece of paper and threw it gracefully across the two desk. It landed beside Katie who groaned as she pushed her self back in her chair and grabbed it. She took her time unfolding the piece of paper then she took ever more time scanning the words. After a few minutes she looked up at Marcy who was watching her coolly “there is almost nothing on this guy” Katie declared with an air of frustration while Marcy could only give her a supporting smile “that’s all he gave me, said that this guy is a new player among the packs, Jamul Hussein hasn’t been around town that long but him and Serine go back” Marcy informed her as Katie folded the piece of paper back up and shoved it into pocket, she then lent back and sighed rubbing her grainy eyes “why you got it in for this guy anyway” Marcy asked causing Katie to look at her through slits “something he said, made me think he has something to hide, I just can’t put my finger on it. I thought Manny might come through for me, give me something that could concert my doubts” Katie admitted as Marcy shrugged then slowly stood “other then asking Julius and Serine about their friend looks like you’ve hit a dead end my dear” Marcy said gently but Katie had tilted her head at something Marcy had said “I’m getting coffee, want some” Marcy asked a distracted Katie who simply nodded before Marcy shook her head and walked towards the coffee machine. Katie took no time in snatching up the receiver and punching in her brother’s number. She had to wait a few rings before there was a click and someone breathing “hello” a deep voice greeted while Katie stiffened “hey, Danny or Jason” Katie asked, hoping that it was Jason. She didn’t know if Danny would have any affect on her over the phone “it’s me Katie, Jason” Jason said causing Katie to sigh with relief then she went back to the issue “hey, I need your help on something” Katie admitted as she lent on the desk and needed her forehead “what with” Jason sounded tired and something else, something more deeper. Katie glanced out the window and saw the day had turned into evening and moving higher into the sky was the moon, and it dawned on Katie that the night after tomorrow would bring the full moon and Jason would be turned into a full grown werewolf. The breathing caught Katie’s attention and helped bring her back “about the people that come to the club. Actually one guy in practically” Katie said as she heard Jason shifting where he stood “Katie, I’m not good with faces, there are dozens who come into the club every night” “no, this one would only have been coming into the club for about a year now, and he wouldn’t be sitting out side with the rest of the goers. He would be Julius guest” Katie pointed out as she heard Jason physically stiffen “then I sure in hell can’t tell you Katie, your best bet would to ask Danny or Erick, but not at the club… I have Erick’s home number he would be your best choice. But what ever you do Katie don’t ask around the club if Julius catches you sniffing around his friends then he will be pissed” Jason warned causing Katie to snap “even if they are killing his pups” Katie bit her lower lip and rubbed her forehead in hopes of erasing what she had just said “Katie” “sorry Jason. I’ll grab the number on my way home tonight” Katie was trying her best to smooth over the blip but Jason had already heard and was growing more concerned “Katie you have some idea whose behind this” Jason asked as Katie sat up “I can’t discuss that, I have to go now Jason I’ll speak to later” and with that Katie hanged up and stared at the receive as though she could see Jason standing at his end. After a few minutes Katie hit the desk “damnit” she cursed as Marcy put the coffee beside her and smiled “something wrong” she asked whilst sliding into her own sit with her own coffee “I think I just screwed the case up” Katie muttered as Marcy shrugged “it’s your own fault if you did” Marcy pointed out allowing her eyebrows to flick up wards as though to make a point. Katie grabbed the coffee and took a large gulp, not caring that it gave her threedegree burns whilst sliding down her throat “I need sleep” Katie gasped once the coffee was gone “thought you got sleep last night, wasn’t that the reason you over slept this morning” Marcy asked with a touch of mocking while Katie could only glare at her in an half attempt “like your gossip don’t you” Katie joked as Marcy laughed and sat back studying Katie “when it comes to you my dear, yes I do. You know you can’t lie to me, someone was in there with you” Marcy pointed out, and Katie knew Marcy had her cornered she wouldn’t let her get of this one. At that moment a shadow was thrown over their desk and Katie looked up to see a rather ragged looking Wilbur “you got time” Wilbur asked and before Katie could tell him she was drinking her first good cup of coffee he withdrew a hand from his pocket and waved it “don’t matter, I need to talk you. You can ride with me to the station,” Wilbur ordered in such a way that broke no argument. Katie flashed Marcy a beaming smile that also mocked her and got up from her chair slowly then grabbed her jacket “Wilbur you remember my friend Marcy Combs” Katie said whilst slipping her jacket on and Wilbur nodded in a distracted way to Marcy who nodded back in the same way whilst glaring at Katie “thanks for the coffee Marcy, I’ll call you later on” Katie chirped whilst she and Wilbur made their way towards the door but not before JR stepped out of his office “please don’t let this be a law suit Ions” JR muttered causing Wilbur to turn but Katie touched his arm “sorry sir, but I guess I have one to many speeding tickets or maybe it was the reporter I knocked down, who knows” Katie chirped whilst Wilbur walked out and Katie glimpsed JR turning a strange pale violet colour.

Katie slipped into the unmarked car and looked at Wilbur who slipped in second later “so what is it” Katie asked boldly whilst Wilbur started the car up “the vic, well we found something on him that might interest you” Wilbur declared distractedly whilst pulling the car towards the road “what” Katie asked curiously before Wilbur pulled in to the traffic and quickly sped up “we found an animal hair on the body, the only thing is that it was a Jaguar hair” Wilbur said but not looking at her “Jaguar” Katie asked as Wilbur nodded and glanced at her for a second “something we don’t have running around the city” Wilbur pointed out in a cool tone causing Katie to frown.
