Remember last month when I wrote that July was for relaxing?If that is true, then August is for re-relaxing. So much that thebeginning of the month starts to drag out. It becomes like twobest friends on a play date: “What do you wanna do?” “I don’tknow, what do you wanna do?” “I don’t know, I asked you first.” And so it goes, back and forth until suddenly you realize thatyour best friend’s mom will be here any minute and you startpanicking. You do something just to do something, but then yourealize that you really like what you’re doing and are totallybummed that the fun time is over.Don’t wait, start having fun right now! Besides our “The MostDifficult Songwriting Contest . . . Ever!” [See last month’sEditor’s Notes for details.] they are other contests, opportunitiesand articles meant to enlighten, educate and inspire you. Forinstance:The young band, Camera Can’t Lie, have seriously explodedonto the scene with not one, but two EPs, nonstop touring andthe trio is anticipating a full-length release in the fall. Not badfor a only one year’s worth of work!Speaking of accomplishments, what Danny Ross has achievedwith his first album will simply blow you away. Some artistsspend their whole career trying to do what he did . . . and he didit, as his first record!And Barry Louis Polisar?! This marvelous man has devoted hisentire life to entertaining. In return, the children who grew uplistening to his music have created a 60-track, double disctribute album to honor him. What an incredibly touching andrewarding life moment!And there’s much more!
