It was with great pleasure that I was able to attend the New York State Organizational Meeting in July.
Our State Council, along with our Supreme Council, has many new and exciting programs and
Incentives that I will be sharing with you at our meetings. Not only was the weekend very informative,
but I was able to witness the Installation of all of the Incoming New York State Officers and together I
am confident that we will be able to continue to carry out the mission of the founder of our Order, the
Venerable Michael J. McGivney. I myself also had the honor of being Installed as the District Deputy of
the Third New York District for the current Columbian year. I look forward to seeing all of you in the
upcoming weeks at your Councils Installation of Officers. Having the honor and the duty of conducting
the Installation of Officers for all of the Councils of the Third District is the greatest
privilege that the District Deputy has. It is a wonderful occasion and the only
Ceremony In the Order that is open to non-members. Until then may the Lord keep you and Bless you.

Chairman of the Suffolk County

Assembly to our Council F.S. Bob Elliott as soon as possible. For those that do not know what the
Fourth Degree is all about, here are a few items that our Members are Committed to:
To promote and strengthen the patriotic spirit of the civic community.
To educate its members, and others, both in the teachings of Holy Mother Church, and the
history of our nation.
To promote by example the highest type of citizenship so necessary for the preservation and perpetuation of
Republican form of government, and its democratic institutions.
To oppose dissemination and spread of doctrine dangerous to our form of government, and to the Divine law of
faith and morality.
To support by word and deed, the duly constituted authorities of local, state and national government, and to
recognize excellence in public life.
If these items are important to you, as an American Citizen, we urge you to join the Fourth Degree of our Order. Every Third
Degree Member is eligible to become a Fourth Degree Knight. Remember, every Member of our Order is a Knight, but only

Our NYS Council Website is currently under construction. Our

NYS Webmaster Richard Ditrio is busy updating and improving the
site. Please visit often and see the progress at
www.newyorkknights.com . We have a new slate of Officers and
Directors who are willing to assist you in any way they can, as well as
more programs than you can count. See the programs and events that
Councils from all over the State are doing, you may get an Idea for
something that you never even thought of.

Do you have a form 100 handy?

Well you should. It is the duty of
every Brother Knight to recruit new Members into our Order.
Our Supreme Knight Carl Anderson said: We have a Moral
Obligation to offer membership in the Knights of Columbus to
every eligible Catholic Man. And he is absolutely 100%
correct. Potential Members are all around you. Look around
your Parish, your place of work, your neighborhood, your
family and friends. Look at your sons, nephews and
son-in-law's. Yes they are busy. But get them to join and get
them into our Insurance program now, while they are young.
They can become active members later in life. But stress the
importance of securing a finical future for their families, your
family! Remember, you have a Moral Obligation! Pick up a
form 100 at your Council now.

Our Council is Excited to Welcome our New Field Agent, Brother Ralph DePinto.
Please feel free to contact Ralph at (516) 318-4470 or by email at
ralph.depinto@kofc.org for all of your Insurance needs and questions. Knights of
Columbus Insurance now offers so many different products such as Disability
Insurance, Annuities, Long Term Care and so much more. Please dont hesitate to give
Ralph a call.

WE CARE - WE SHARE

My Dear Sister Columbiettes and Brother Knights,

I hope you are all enjoying a happy and healthy summer. As we move into the dog days of August we have to
remember that St. Liberata is September 16th, the week before our meeting. As we will not be having any
meetings during July and August, you can drop off any donations for the Italian baskets during the summer on
Tuesdays between 1 and 3. This is the time the Netty Knitters are there and we will be able to take your
donations. If you are donating food please check the expiration dates. Right now the baskets are very sparse,
which means we need a lot more food and gift certificates to fill these two baskets if we want to have a successful
raffle. If you need letters for gift certificates please contact me and I will make sure you get them. My phone
number is 631-237-1167.

Please keep in your prayers all of our brothers and sisters going through difficult times or health issues this
summer, especially Elaine and Jim Addie, Flo Petralia, Melvin Weeks and Rosalie Proto-Nugent. I would like to
thank everyone who came out to Rulands Funeral Home for Sue Cheeseman. I know her family was
appreciative.

Happy birthday to the August babies: Janeth Billian, Josephine Bosco, Anne Boyce, Virginia
DAngelis, Bridgette Drawbridge, Doris Freytag, Mary Jara, Donna Mandart, Rosalie Proto-Nugent,
