Who are mypublic representatives?
It was one of the greatexperiences of my life to haverepresented the people of South Belfast as a Councillor,MLA and Minister. However, the time has come to moveon and I am very happy thatConall McDevitt has succeededme as MLA. He is able andarticulate, young and dynamic, and brings great energy andcommitment to his work as anMLA.We are fortunate in thecalibre of our SDLP publicrepresentatives; we have agreat team with Conall, ourcouncillors, Bernie Kellyand Niall Kelly, and severalothers waiting in the wings.I’m a believer in continualrenewal. It’s what we needthroughout the North, and it’svery important to give the nextgeneration a chance to affectchange. Although moving on fromconstituency work, I amcontinuing to campaign ona number of issues which Ichampioned in the Assembly, including supporting thesurvivors of institutional abuseand encouraging internationaldevelopment. It has been an absoluteprivilege to represent you.
