we are giving ourselves even greater

Our new WCU600 touchscreen has been extremely well

Apple TV is fully navigable directly from
Opus’ WCU600 touchscreen. Using
the new Opus Hotspot™, users control
their Apple TV interface in much the
same way as with the Apple remote.
Areas of the touchscreen are assigned
to one of six remote control infra red
commands such as ‘Up’, ‘Down’,
‘Menu’, ‘Enter’ and ‘Back’. And since cost to integrating Apple TV (or indeed
this control method is built into the several!) into an Opus 500 multi-room
WCU600 keypad, there is no additional system.
Moreover, Apple TV can be natively
controlled using Apple’s own software
on any iPhone or iPod touch.
To enable access of different media
content in each zone concurrently,
it’s simple to connect multiple Apple
TVs to the Opus system.

with a wi-fi to serial adaptor - and in
turn the Opus SCU600 serial interface.

MCU500 Master Control Unit
The Master Control Unit is the heart
of the Opus system. The MCU500 is
easy to install, service and upgrade.
Capable of distributing up
to five audio inputs - in addition to the
in-built tuner - to four main zones and

MCU500 will fill any home with a rich

the front panel of displays radio station,

Switching Unit

zones around your home. When an
audio source is selected in any zone
via the wall-mounted control unit, the
VSU500 automatically routes the
corresponding video signal directly to
the same zone.

SCU600 Serial
Control Unit
The SCU600 Serial Control Unit
allows Opus to control third party
solutions such as lighting, video
switching, heating, blinds. It also
enables third-party devices such as
iPhone, Pronto, Crestron and AMX
to control Opus systems.
Opus’ in-house software team has
worked tirelessly to ensure the
SCU600 integrates with a wide
range of third party smart home
products enabling installers to easily
add additional value and offer end-
users simpler integrated systems.
TXT600
Text Interface Unit
Further expanding Opus’ power and
flexibility is the TXT600 Text Interface
Unit which allows the WCU500 or
WCU600 keypads to display album,
artist, and track text.
Designed to work with Xiva-based HD
servers such as those from Marantz,
Imerge and Sonance and Fireball based
servers from Escient. It is upgradeable
for future expansion and features USB

Opus 300 - Multi-Room
WCU330 Wall Control Unit
The WCU330 provides fingertip control
of the Opus 300 multi-room
entertainment system and can be used
as both main or sub-zone controllers.
Working on the A-BUS standard,
installation is extremely simple with just
one Cat5 cable connection needed
from WCU330 keypad to MCU300 and
standard speaker cable from the
keypad to loudspeakers. Remarkably,
amplification for the speakers is built
into the back of the WCU330 and
a pre-amp output is even provided
for driving external amplifiers or a
powered subwoofer.
The WCU330 may also be used with
other A-BUS ready audio set-ups by
flicking the rear-mounted switch to
standard (A-BUS), for access to all
basic functions.

CKU330 Learning
Wall Control Unit
The CKU is a combination of the
Opus WCU330 and new learning
keypad, designed to dramatically
improve the functionality
of the Opus 300 system. When used
with the LRC300 learning remote
control, the CKU330 can learn the IR
codes from any manufacturers’
remote control so that media servers,
iPods/MP3 players, DVD players,
tuners and other sources can all be
controlled conveniently from the wall.
The keypad also features clock,
alarm and sleep timer functions.
Critical to its functionality is a clear
LCD screen which displays time,
date and source by name.
The CKU330 is available in white
and stainless steel finishes.
MCU300 Audio Hub
Capable of accessing any of six
available audio sources (music server,
tuner etc.), the MCU300 distributes any
source to any or all of four main zones
around the house simultaneously using
just one run of Cat5 cable per zone.
And, for every main zone, the MCU300
supports an additional sub-zone which
is ideal for en-suite bathrooms,
conservatories etc.
Loop outputs for all six audio sources
are provided, enabling integration with
an existing hi-fi, or home theatre
system. For larger installations requiring
more than four main zones and four
sub-zones, a hub-link facility is
provided enabling up to four MCU300s
to be daisy-chained for up to 32 zones
(16 main zones and 16 sub-zones).
VSU300 Video Hub
Designed to work with the MCU300
multi-source hub, the VSU300 video
switching unit adds full audio-visual
switching capability to the Opus 300
Multi-Room Entertainment System.
When an audio source is selected in
any zone (via the wall-mounted control
panel or remote) the VSU300
automatically routes the corresponding
video signal to the same zone. Loop
outputs for all six video sources are
provided, enabling integration with an
existing hi-fi or home theatre system.
AMR650 Active
In-Ceiling Speaker
Opus breaks new ground in the multi-
room entertainment market with the
revolutionary AMR650 A-BUS Active
speaker. The AMR650 eliminates the
need for a wall-control keypad and
makes an Opus 300 system even
easier to install, particularly in a
'retro-fit' situation.
Consisting of a matched pair of high-
quality ceiling speakers, the AMR650
features a wide-angle infra-red eye
mounted on the 'active' speaker.
This allows full access to volume, tone
settings, and source selection controls
by using the learning remote control.
Small confirmation beeps inform the
user that adjustments are being made.
The active speaker contains a built-in
stereo power amplifier which drives
both itself and its passive twin. A pre-
amp output provides connection for
an active sub-woofer or separately
powered pair of speakers if desired.

connected to the Master Control Unit
(MCU300) using Cat5 cable, providing
source signals, IR pass-through,

The OS165CC speaker system delivers

the OS165CC drive unit and crossover

LIM300 Local Input Module
The Local Input Module (LIM300) is
a neat in-wall unit that enables instant
connection of an additional local
source to those distributed by the
MCU300. This allows devices such
as PlayStations or iPods to be used in
the room or corresponding sub-zone
where the LIM300 is fitted. LIM300s
connect between the MCU audio hub
and a WCU330 amplified control
module (or AMR650 active speaker)
using Cat5 cable.
Each local source can be intuitively
controlled through the Opus remote
and/or keypad.
The LIM300 is perfect for connecting
iPods and other MP3 players locally.

LRC300 Learning
Remote Control
The LRC300 learning remote control
enables users to enjoy sophisticated
functionality from their Opus 300
system with hard-coded buttons to
control the Opus system plus full
control of all connected source
equipment. A single LRC300 can
control all local settings such as
volume, source and bass/treble as well
as all source settings such as play, stop
and track/station selection etc.
PSA65-U Power Supply
The Opus 300 multi-room system
relies on a constant 24V power
supply provided by the PSA65-U
Power Supply. The PSA65-U
