‘Live your Life’ “know that life is hard But why take him away Now he simply watches over us As we live our lives in disarray How dowe see through his eyes? It’s never easy just to live your life Live your life” 1 Goliad, in memory ofthelate Aubrey Fariss Photoby KATIE HAYES forthe Lader Above, Michael Bayer practices with members of Back at Goliad, a local rock group. The band is made up of local friends who continued to prac- tice and perform after the loss of bandmate Aubrey Fariss in a vehicle accident last year. Members of band carry on after death of bandmate By TODD GLASSCOCK Special to the Leader They don't have a studio or major label - yet. Such things linger in their minds on Sunday afternoons when the band practices in a tiny upstairs room at the Round Rock home where two of its members, Michael Bayer and Lance McLaury, live. For any band getting its start, the possibility of snagging a major label - and signing to it - might be as near as its next gig, or maybe the next, or the next. The members of Back at Goliad hope their next show is the one that edges them closer to that moment. They'll play and compete in a Battle of the Bands from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Red Seven, 611 E. 6th St. in Austin. They'll be going head-to-head with six other bands vying for the chance to advance to a final round and compete for $500, 20 hours of studio time and submission to a major record label See BAI > TT snl SI SHEL, Buyxryd ym 9A0y 3uysepd spuogsy anoy yo puns aup *So136] parqques ypies Joogpiow pends yp ‘se ‘pod au ‘sd oq} ‘sien jo ae )uou cxmisd [pews axp wr WY) punose [Ty “anc] AoMpaisUt YL IE ajddy sreyn’ sanerjoyy pure saKeg pue WD sseq SuOKEntg “Yeo sup Ay ouInjoa arp dn 5uen pue uarcp jaquny Aeyp way “aq Anunos e Burcp penore ed Kayp ‘aaag2id ye una snoysas 10) dn auem Aay sy ioypodo) way daoy{2ysnuryo ano] ayy pue diyspuat, ‘epuany ys9q Stas uspuss S08 waxy 90401 pap roadie yam ‘cs 340m 0} StT096 pureg stp UesPay 910 sf aysnuir oq Uo prey BupHOM sTM IyBH ‘uy Bung s-oquiow pug 2p Jo use “pres Ane To ol a.m, srono ums Song ‘your Sur ADMIT WPM suom Kou, ‘Ax fap sau Jo 90m atp pur shepuns uo aapoeid jo SaOy om) ISEaT Te pind 01 dn SSyy, pres me pyy '=q we S94 atp o¥SHIUE TOUT aN ch sons purg aL 9 2m 01 Arepuo 99 yeyMoMIOS aut “ys ‘sua Hay] Je INO patog, uays ‘ples 10heg, af JO SOK.
