Suggested time: 10-15 minutes
1.Greet Students at the Door.
Make sure to introduceyourself to each student as they enter class. Beginnow learning their names and creating an invitingatmosphere in your class.
2.Distribute copies of the Multiple IntelligenceAssessment.
Explain to students that once they are intheir seat, they are to take five minutes to completethe 35 question survey. Encourage the students tomove quickly and not spend a lot of time waveringbetween answers.
3.Score the Multiple Intelligence together.
Projectthe MI Assessment and Key in side by side fashion.Using your interactive whiteboard tools, show thestudents how to quickly score their assessment.
4.Have students record their top two learning styles.
Once students have scored their assessment,encourage students to review their key. Have studentscome to the front of the room.

1.Divide the class into heterogeneous groups of four.
Using the results from the multiple intelligenceassessment, divide the class into groups of four. Tryto divide the class so that there is a strong visuallearner, strong interpersonal, and strong linguisticlearner in each group.
2. Move students into their groups.
Move studentsinto their groups and challenge them to complete aquick team-builder activity. Have them finish thissentence within their group, “My favorite commercialis ____ because ___.”
