Saturday, August 30, 2008, from 9 am - 2 pm.

The Juneau Arts and Culture Center
WHY:
Promote discussion and exploration of greater food self-sufficiency by bringing together consumers,growers, and producers of local foods, with the intent of encouraging local sustainability through backyardgardening and small business initiatives. Also, we want to offer a space for non-profits to raise money throughsales of produce or baked goods containing locally grown or harvested ingredients.
PARTICIPANTS:
 
Individuals, Non-Profit Organizations, Commercial Businesses
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
 
Sell home grown produce, flowers, herbs, or local food products,
including jams, jellies, preserves,syrups, teas and other foods

Sell commercially produced local foods
such as baked goods, coffee, and seafood
 
Sell products or services
for gardening or local food production
 
Raise funds
for a non-profit organization
 
Provide gardening information
at a table
 
Donate a little produce.
Only have a small amount of homegrown produce? You can donate it to theSustainability Commission table and we’ll help you sell it—proceeds will go to a local charitableorganization.
RESERVING A SPACE:
 
To reserve a space, a $10.00 is charged in advance to help defray event costs (except where noted below):
 
Commercial sales booths/exhibits are limited to vendors selling garden and produce growing related items orvendors selling locally produced food. We encourage tasting tables. The fee for commercial vendors is 10 percentof sales of the day (up to a maximum of $300). Payment is expected within 10 days after the event.
 
Non-profit organizations are limited to produce, flowers, jams and jellies, and baked goods. In lieu of the spacereservation fee, we ask that you donate a tangible item or a service to be given away as door prizes at the event.
 
Informational booths are not charged a fee.
TABLES AND EQUIPMENT:
Some tables are available; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own tables, chairs, signs, electricalcords, and other equipment necessary for their booth, and are asked to clean up their area at the end of the event.
