 August 6, 2010Dear Fellow Republican:Because like you, I am deeply concerned about the future of our state and nation,I ask that you take just a minute of your valuable time to read this important message.For generations, New York State has been a great place to live, work and raise afamily but – the facts are inescapable – our collective futures are in jeopardy if wecontinue on our present course… taxes are destroying families, businesses and jobs…Upstate is an economic basket case and the New York City Metropolitan area is in realtrouble due to the troubles on Wall Street.Only one candidate for governor, Rick Lazio, has the character, integrity andability to fix the mess in Albany.That’s why it is so important that we unite behind Rick Lazio now.We have a tremendous opportunity in 2010…thanks to Obama, Spitzer and one- party rule in Albany and Washington, the public is much more willing to supportRepublican candidates at every level. But to reform Albany with honest, decentgovernment, we have to get off our collective duffs and fight.The public will respond when we offer a real alternative to what the Democratsare doing in Albany and Washington.Like you and me, Rick Lazio is keenly aware that the state needs a strong, vibrantand fiscally conservative alternative to the tax, borrow and spend culture of our opponents.
