Who is Craft - d?
Craft - d is a multifacted craft and design brand, expressedas a zine, blog, illustration, design and crafty creations byBeth Peters.
The zine
The first issue of this zine was created 3 years ago fora paper at university. In 2010 the itch to record, captureand share my latest craft and design crushes on paperbecame too great to ignore. The artists and craftspeople featured inspire me in my lifeor work in one way or another. Their creativity and ablilityto create something out of nothing keeps me awake intothe night thinking of new crafting possibilites to pursueoutside my full time job.
I Collecting
As far back as I can remember I have been a collector. Itstarted with stickers, erasers, stamps, Shortland Streetcharacter cards, postcards from cafés, photographsand fabric. As I got older it progressed to 20th Centurypostcards, Crown Lynn, antique linen, crystal, sewingpatterns, books and cameras. My collections have been referred to as clutter or hoardingsbut I prefer to call them investments. Investments intime, appreciation of craftsmanship, rarity, value andinspiration. The things I collect in some ways define me.Their history informs my future creations and ideas frommaterial to colour, typefaces to workman ship. A few of mycollections feature in this zine. I hope they inspire you tocollect and create.Be inspired. Beth x
