Alignment and Additional information

Robin,
Thanks again for taking the time to discuss the Siemens Ultra Short S70 vehicle.
As requested, additional information regarding the alignment is on the City's website. Link:http:/ / w w w .cin ci nna ti-

oh.gov/city/downloads/city_pdf17769.pdf
A few follow up questions are listed below. Would it be possible to get responses to these questions in two weeks?
Thanks again, Dave Thurston
What is the expected cost of a 60’ radius car? I assume the $3.528 figure is for the 82’ radius car.
Does the car have a speed regulator on it for streetcar usage? If so, how difficult is it to remove the regulator if
the car is used in a light rail application?
What is its dynamic envelope?
What is the minimum operating pantograph height (Confirm minimum and maximum operating pantograph
heights).
What is the current draw per vehicle (avg & peak) at 750VDC?
What is frequency drive (AB, can you clarify/re-phrase that one)
Please confirm that 7% grade is not an issue. Please confirm the same for 7.5%, 8.0%, 8.5%. Please also
include maximum grades that vehicle can start/stop from.
Please confirm vehicle delivery by December 2011. Please provide Siemens needed criteria to make this date.

Please advise on additional engineering that Siemens will need to complete to make vehicle 60' radius capable (or
provide the absolute minimum operational radius achievable). (e.g., What is its effect on the delivery timeline?
Has it been done before and if so, what are the positives and negatives of doing 60’? Please confirm vertical sag
and crest requirements for a 60’ radius car.)

Besides the wheel skirting being required to engineer the 60' radius, are any other modifications (internal or
external) required?
Please provide backup information where $3.528M cost per vehicle is contractual.
Please confirm that 94k lbs meets HS20 loading. Please confirm engineering analysis that this is acceptable on
PT Concrete structures.
Can one vehicle tow/push another in case of breakdowns?
Please provide information regarding standard vehicle warranties.

Cincinnati Streetcar Vine St and West Clifton Plans and Profiles
Robin,
A follow up to last week’s call. . .

Attached, please find the plans and profiles for Vine St and West Clifton in Cincinnati, Ohio (pdfs, dgns, and dwgs of each). Currently, the City of Cincinnati would like to keep both of these routes on the table for current and/or future alignments. Prior to moving forward, we need confirmation that your proposed vehicle can traverse both of these alignments in both directions.

Can you please have these routes analyzed and confirm that they your vehicle can or cannot traverse these alignments?
Would it be possible to respond with this information by next week – Friday, May 28th?
