. The result is that we are obedient to the will of God because we arerighteous.Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A people in whose heart is My law; Do notfear the reproach of man, Nor be dismayed at their revilings.(Isaiah 51: 7)
. How are the seals related to the sealing? When the king took the throne, He read thelaw and covenant. The opening of the covenant scroll involved the breaking of the seals. Theagreement listed the curses which we saw being released in the prophecy of the seven seals. Thecovenant also stipulated that God would write His law into our hearts. Therefore, the Holy Spiritwas sent to seal us. The opening of the covenant scroll caused two sets of actions by God.
Curses for the Wicked (Seven Seals)
. The wicked receive the punishment of the fivesets of curses.
Blessings for the Righteous (Sealing)
. They receive the Holy Spirit Who seals the law intheir hearts.
. The prophecies predict that the Sabbath commandment will be the weak link in thechain of commandments that Satan will attack. It is the controversy over this commandment andthe first four commandments that will be the great issues at the end of time. Breaking anycommandment in disobedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit will cause us to lose the seal ofGod. The fight over the Sabbath will be the great issue that determines who responds to theseal.... and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.(Acts 5: 32)
. Jewish tradition says that this day is the final chance to be sealed. The sealingbegan on the feast of trumpets. Yom Kippur is just the last opportunity. During this period fromthe feast of trumpets to Yom Kippur, Jews would greet each other with these words.
"May you be sealed and may your name be written in the book."
Now that the great Yom Kippur has begun and God is selecting His people, Revelation 6 asks "whowill be able to stand" in this judgment. Revelation 7 answers that by saying only those who aresealed and adopted by God.
The people of God receive the seal of God instead of the Mark of the Beast. Before they enter thePromised Land (heaven) they are counted by God and given their inheritance. These are the same peoplepictured in Revelation 15 as standing on the sea of Glass.
The Sealing (Revelation 7: 1-8)
Revelation 6 ends with the question, "Who will be able tostand?". Revelation 7 attempts to answer this question bylooking at the people who are triumphant. They will beable to stand. After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners ofthe earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, sothat no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or onany tree. And I saw another angel ascending from therising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and hecried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom itwas granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, "Do notharm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealedthe bond-servants of our God on their foreheads." And Iheard the number of those who were sealed, one hundredand forty four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sonsof Israel.(Revelation 7: 1-4)The final trouble is held back until the sealing iscompleted. This appears to happen in the sixth trumpetwhen the four angels are released.
.Then the sixth angel sounded, and Iheard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar
