DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Under the overall supervision of the Medical Officer EPI and day-to-day supervision/guidanceof/by Technical Officer EPI, the incumbent will provide support to the EPI unit by performingthe following specific duties:1) In close coordination with national counterparts, assist in preparing and timelyprocessing proposal under DFC, APW and SSA from WHO in support of VPDsurveillance, Polio NIDs, Measles SIAs and other EPI related activities.2) Working closely with the government health official in EPI to process and fulfill projectproposal request for supplies and equipment particularly for laboratory equipment andreagents for the network of polio and measles labs. Maintain appropriate system tokeep track of all requests and to follow up on pipeline/pending requests.3) Assisting WHO logistic team, in following-up on the status of purchase ordersprocessed through MSU/SEARO or SUP/HQ. For local purchase orders assist Supplyand Equipment Assistant with processing deliveries and installation of equipment andverifying invoices. In consultation and coordination with logistic unit, maintain anaccurate and update inventory of the EPI projects/unit.4) Assist TO-EPI in order to review work plans periodically to monitor implementationstatus of planned activities and suggest/implement eventual programme changes.5) Prepare regular project financial report to monitor the use of EPI related funds byperforming regular financial analysis at intervals or as requested; bring anomaliesand/or issues for consideration to the attention of the supervisors.6) Regularly follow up on collection of Statements of Expenditure (SOEs) to track actualuse of funds advanced to national partners and ensure reporting on SOEs is up-to-date.7) Develop and maintain a well-organized computerized and a hard-copy filing system totrack and manage all financial record, matters included budgets and proposalssubmitted and granted.8) Draft correspondence, facsimile messages, emails and memoranda relating tofinancial matters.9) Provide logistic, administrative and financial support to staff of EPI unit for their fieldvisits, national as well as international meetings and workshops including hotelbooking, hiring vehicle, transport from/to airport. Assist in preparation of meetingmaterials, handouts, and other miscellaneous duties as required.10) Other duties as assigned by the Medical Officer and Technical Officer, WHO/EPI.
