Give us more information about a noun.

For example;

THE ORDER OF ADJECTIVES

Sometimes you may need to use more than one adjective to describe a noun.
You may have a maximum of 5 adjectives before a noun in one sentence.
For example;

Five stunning tall black American models.

POSSESIVE ADJECTIVES

- Used to show ownership or possession.

For example;

I own a laptop. = It is my laptop.

You own this computer (I presume). = It is your computer.

My husband owns a car. = It is his car.

My sister owns a house. = It is her house.

My dog owns a collar. = It is its collar.

COMPARATIVE FORM OF ADJECTIVES

- When we compare two things or people we look at what makes them different from
each other.
For example;

The man on the left is taller than the man on the right.
The man on the right is shorter than the man on the left.

- When comparing two things like this we put than between the adjective and the thing
being compared.

For example:

“Rome is the most beautiful city in the world.“

“Rome is more beautiful than Paris.”

"Mount Everest is higher than Mount Snowdon."

"Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world."

FORMATION OF ADJECTIVES FROM VERBS AND NOUNS

- We can form adjectives from verbs and nouns by adding suitable suffixes.

For example:

Help + ful = helpful

Mother + ly = motherly

Music + al = musical
