“Let’s press on in faith!”
A night with the Deacons….

Our deacons met last Monday evening. To assist communication
this is a brief summary of the ground covered. From time to time as
would be expected, our leaders have to attend to matters which are
of a more confidential nature. But many details are of general

interest and here are some attended to at this most recent meeting….
Zimbabwe in September as a church we are blessed to have with us on
Sunday 26.09.10 the Pastor of the Harare Baptist Church, John Bell.
John is a dear friend of the Honeybun family and is coming to us direct
from Johannesburg before exercising ministry in Perth

John will be preaching on Sunday 26.09.10. The service will be followed
by a finger food lunch, then John will be making a presentation with
time for conversation with him

In preparation for John’s visit, Bruce and Sue will be leading us in the
service on Sunday 12.09.10.
What is of interest is that the day of John’s visit to us is also the day
being set aside globally for prayer for Zimbabwe
Keep both Sundays free these are important days for us and hopefully
will lead to some form of partnership with John and the Harare Church.
Making the most of our Church Review….
We all recall Steve’s work with us earlier this year. The deacons are

currently working on the following ten areas for the purpose of bringing
proposals for each: our new facilities, leadership development,
delegation, the process of pastoral care, communication, decision
making, mentoring program, outreach suited to local culture, succession
planning, and finance.

The deacons will be shaping these proposals before the year ends
(there’s a lot of work required!) with at least one Special Meeting to be
held during First Term 2011 and provision for an additional meeting as
needed.
Continue to pray for those entrusted with the leadership of our fellowship.

CHURCH MEETING
Today - 12:30pm
Our Quarterly Church Meeting will be
held after this morning’s service and

finger food lunch. Agendas will be available at the start of the meeting, or you can pick one up in the porch or downstairs after the service.

Obninsk Team
Report Evening
Next Sunday

Next Sunday at 6.30pm our travellers will be presenting their report to the church complete with Russian music, photos and videos. Included will be a presentation to Mayor Gilbert from the Mayor of Obninsk. Also, we will be opening for the first time the gift which Pastor Alexey has sent to us. No one has seen what it is apart from the Customs Officer at Tullamarine who

inspected the frame (and he didn’t see anything more anyway). So be here for

the official opening, for many pictures and many stories. Hear about our very special friend, Alexey, and his people. The Team was privileged to visit churches in Moscow and the Christian University in St Petersburg with time spent in both cities after the visit to Obninsk. Please bring a plate for supper.
