Course SyllabusHialeah Gardens Senior HighMrs. BorgesWelcome! I hope you all had a great summer and I look forward to working with youthis school year.In order to ensure an equal opportunity for learning, my philosophy in the classroom isthat the rules and procedures listed below must be followed at all times. By followingthe rules and procedures, we will be more productive during our time together in theclassroom.
Students should be respectful and courteous at all times.Disrespectful comments or behavior towards myself or other students will not betolerated.2.
Be on Time
- You are expected to be in your seats and working when the bell rings.3.
Keep Your Hands to Yourself
There should be no physical contact of any kind.4.
Stay in Your Seat
Remain in your seat at all times. You should not be walkingaround during class unless you are directed to do so.5.
Focus Your Attention on Those Speaking
When someone is speaking, you are not. Your attention should be focused on whoever is speaking, whether it is I, or anotherstudent. In order to give your full attention and receive the maximum benefit of theclass, you should not be sleeping in class, and all electronic devices should be turnedoff and put away during class.
If a rule is broken, the consequences are as follows:1
incident: Conduct cut3
incident: Parent contact5
These procedures should be practiced regularly in order for our time together to runsmoothly and effectively.
Everyday will begin with a Bellringer. A Bellringer is an assignment thatwill be posted at the start of class. Completion of the Bellringers is a requirement andwill be part of your participation grade in the class. Attendance will be taken while youwork on your Bellringer.
Entering the Classroom:
Students should enter the room quietly, sit down at theirassigned seats, and get started on the posted Bellringer by the time the tardy bellrings.
