G’Con RULES
On the following pages you will find all the rules that will apply in G’Con. Readthem carefully, especially if you have never played in a tournament previously. Thetournament comprises two separate events, Warhammer Fantasy andWarhammer 40K.
PLAYING IN G’CON
When you arrive at the tournament you must bring 2 copies of the army list thatyou submitted to the Judges prior to 1st July 2009. The list must include all of themodels in your army, their point value, the points value of any equipment, andmust specify which model is carrying any wargear item that you decide to take. Please put your name on all copies. You will participate in a series of games, each against a different opponent. In thefirst round players will be matched randomly against an opponent. (Players mayrequest a ‘grudge match’ against a particular player as long as both players areagreeable to this. Round one is the only time this may happen, please make theofficials aware if you would like to play a particular person on the first round)Pairings will use the Swiss Chess method, which are people who win constantly, will play others who also win constantly. The points used to calculate this will solelybe based on your Generalship points. You can
never
play the same opponenttwice.Once your opponent has been determined you will be assigned a table. Playersare asked to please try to keep their playing area clear of excess ‘clutter’. Eachtable will be a pre-designed battlefield with fixed scenery. The event organisers willprovide no other games equipment and the players must provide all othermaterials. You must bring along a copy of the games rules,Codex you will beusing, as well as copies of any material you will be using from the so that youropponent can check the rules and characteristics that apply to your troops.

At the beginning of each round players will be issued with a tournament scenario, battle results form and two Sportsmanship/Composition forms (one for eachplayer. These forms will then be handed to the tournament organisers. To keep onschedule we appreciate it if you could play at quite a brisk pace. Players who havenot arrived at their table 20 minutes after the round has begun will forfeit the game. This will be enforced! Players found to be stalling will be given 1 warning; a secondbreach will result in a game loss. Before battle players must first show their opponents all the models in their armythat will be deployed during the initial set-up. Players are allowed to ask theiropponent questions about the army and the rules that apply to the units andcharacters in it. After inspecting the army both players should discuss the terrainfor the battle, and how each feels it will affect the units in play (i.e. how doesscenery effect line of sight and movement, and so on). They can also discuss anyother rules points that they think may come up in the battle. All models
MUST
be ‘what you see is what you get’ (WYSIWYG). If a player raisesan objection to their opponent playing with non WYSIWYG models, then thatplayer will be asked to remove the model or play the model as it is represented(with the appropriate point cost).
