TommyHolloway, currently the Director of the Phase One Program,which includes a series of Shuttle-Mir docking missionsleading to the development of the international SpaceStation, has been named to take Shaw's place with a newtitle of Manager, Space Shuttle Program."This was an extremely difficult decision for me tomake. The decision to leave as Director of ShuttleOperations was for personal reasons," Shaw said. "I feel itis best for me to leave the program now. I am heartenedthat Tommy Holloway has agreed to take over this position.I have the utmost respect for the personnel involved in theSpace Shuttle program and am confident that the Shuttle willcontinue to operate as successfully and as safely as it hassince return to flight."In his new role as Manager, Space Shuttle Program,Tommy Holloway will direct the day-to-day management andexecution of the Shuttle program, including detailed programplanning, scheduling and Shuttle systems configurationmanagement.
