Pleated Coin Purse.
I make no claim to this being a new or individual design, there are many patterns available on theinternet; this is just how I made mine.Step one
the fabric, these measurements are not scientific, they are just what I had left aftermaking a bag. All future steps will depend on what size fabrics you use at this point. The pink is 5 inches x 3.5 inches, cut in half lengthwise. The blue is 7 inches x 7 inches. You will also need a larger amount of a third fabric for the lining, some volume fleece and a zip.Step two
take a 1 inch square of card and cut it almost in half on the diagonal, only almost becausethe cut is not straight, it is curved. Then use this template to trim off the bottom corners of bothblue pieces.

Step three
Put 3 pleats into the top of the blue pieces. If you would like more pleats you need tostart with a longer section of fabric
I did 3 as only 3 would fit.I made a double pleat in the middle and a single pleat ¾ inch away from the centre, on each side. The top edge now should be the same length as the pink strip
if it isn
t then fiddle with the pleatstill it fits. Pin the pleats in place, and stitch along the top edge to keep them in place. Stitch less thana quarter of an inch from the edge, that way this line of stitching will be hidden in the main seam.Step four
Lay one of these blue pleated pieces onto a sheet of paper, gently flatten and drawaround. Cut out the template from the paper.

Step five
use this paper template to cut 2 pieces from fusible volume fleece, also cut 2 pieces thesame size as the pink strips of fabric. If you are anything like me you will save all the little bits of fleece from making bags, and now is a perfect chance to use them.Step six
Gently iron the fabric pieces to the fleece. The pink pieces are easy press firmly but notheavily, you do not want to flatten the fleece. The blue pieces should be laid on top of the fusibleside of the fleece, then starting at the top gathered edge, gently press, smooth out the fabric, press, smooth out, press
etc. work down towards the bottom edge. Make the pleats neat as you go
onceironed to the fleece they are stuck forever! The pleats should reach almost but not quite the bottomedge of the fabric.Step seven
pin the pink pieces to the top edge of the blue, ease in around the curve.
