Male suspect boarded without transfer and the operator informed him he
would require a transfer to ride. Suspect stepped off however moments
later he boarded again and sat down at the rear. Op informed suspect he
will not drive as long as the suspect remains on board. Suspect walked to
the front and pushed the op before the op pushed back in attempt to
move the suspect off. Suspect left and was not located.
Spit 8 Female suspect requested to get off at a red light. Operator denied this
request deeming it unsafe and the suspect spat on the operator, spittle
landing on the rear of his head.
Wheelchair DATS DATS operator was dropping a customer off when a male in a motorized
wheelchair approached him angrily for parking in front of a mall entrance.
An argument ensued during which time the operator stood on the front
of the wheelchair and ended by the operator having his foot run over by
the suspect. No charges were laid by EPS.
Punch 5 Male suspect boarded bus upset due to a recent theft. Op observed
suspect throw a piece of paper at another customer and upon turning
around, the op was punched in the left side of his head for no reason. The
suspect immediately left and was not located.
Punch LRT Male suspect was observed by LRT motorman at the location to be
shaking his fists and slapping his own face before approaching the
motorman from behind and attempting to throw a punch which missed.
The suspect is known to the motorman and LRT control and suffers from
a mental disability.
Spit 1 Male suspect boarded bus with female and did not pay fare. Op explained
the fare policy to the suspect however both the female and male suspect
became upset with the op before spitting on him and leaving. Both were
arrested a short time later by EPS.

Grab / Push 15 Male suspect boarded and did not give enough for fare. Op commented
to suspect about remembering him for next time which the suspect
thought the op had said a racial slur. Suspect grabbed op by the face and
twisted it in his grasp before leaving and boarding another bus which was
camera equipped.
Punch 8 Male suspect boarded with expired transfer, operator pointed this out to
him. Suspect punched operator in the arm before swearing at her and
leaving. TPO's spotted the suspect walking away and requested EPS who
arrived and arrested him.
Spit 5 Female was asking operator questions about his route and became upset
as she didn't get the answer she wanted. Male suspect approached and
made a threat to the op before spitting on his face and shirt. Suspect was
still at the location as TPO's arrived who assisted the operator in placing
the suspect under arrest.
Throw Object 1 Male suspect requested a free ride which was refused by the operator.
Suspect threw a small block of cheese at his face before leaving.
Grab / Push 3 Intoxicated male suspect boarded and was verbally aggressive towards
the operator and another female on the bus. As the bus arrived at Jasper
Place the suspect attempted to remove the operator's glasses and pushed
the operator. The op opened the door and the suspect fell onto the
ground. Op closed the door and suspect smashed a window before being
arrested by EPS.
Punch 128 Operator spoke to female suspect about where she was standing at the
bus stop as she had a stroller and was very close to the roadway. As the
suspect got off, she parked the stroller and boarded again, punching the
operator on the shoulder. Two customers assisted in removing the
suspect from the bus who later called transit watch which resulted in her
being identified. Conflicting versions were provided and EPS are
investigating.
Grab / Push 1 Male suspect boarded as op was standing outside. Op entered to ask
suspect about a transfer or pass. Suspect approached op and pushed him
in the chest with both hands, claiming he had lost his transfer. Suspect
took another transfer before leaving.

Spit 12 Male suspect boarded and was holding two bottles of liquor. Op advised
suspect not to open the bottles on the bus. Suspect sat down and opened
the liquor, pouring it into a water bottle. Op approached suspect and
informed him to stop or leave the bus. The op sat down and the suspect
approached to front to get off but grabbed the op by the shirt causing
some buttons to pop. Two witnesses assisted by taking hold of the
suspect and removing him from the bus.
Grab / Push 3 Male suspect boarded and made no attempt to pay. Operator informed
the suspect that he would call security. Suspect moved into the bus and
the op continued to drive before being approached by the suspect again
who began to swear as he dropped something into the fare box. Op
pulled over and instructed the suspect to leave, at which time he spat on
the operator's face.
Punch 3 Intoxicated female suspect boarded and entered into an argument with
the operator before demanding his name. Operator refused and suspect
punched operator in the face causing his glasses to break and cut his
nose. Suspect was arrested nearby.
Punch 16 2 suspects, 2 operators. Sus 1 was smoking on Op 1's bus. Op 1
approached Sus 1 and told her to stop smoking on the bus and get off as
she continued to smoke. Sus 1 started to punch Op 1 several times and
Op 2 boarded to assist Op 1 by holding Sus 1 back but Op 2 was also
pushed and punched by Sus 1 which caused her to fall. Sus 2 kicked Op 2
in the head while she was on the ground. Suspects left but returned a
short time later and were arrested.
Punch 4 Male suspect boarded and claimed his bus pass was stolen. Suspect
became agitated and grabbed the operator by the arm and attempted to
punch him but missed. Suspect got off and kicked and punched the side of
the bus before leaving.
Punch 2 Suspect boarded and took a transfer from the pad and did not pay.
Operator asked suspect to return the transfer at which time he
"backhanded" the operator across the face. Suspect walked to the rear of
the bus and manually opened the rear door before fleeing.

Throw Object 2 Group of males boarded the bus and were causing a disturbance by
shouting, swearing and drinking. Op was about to call control when the
group departed, the last male and suspect to get off the bus threw a
paper cup containing pop and alcohol on the op before fleeing.
Grab / Push 15 Operator of the bus (1) had verbal confrontation with another operator
who was riding the bus (2). 1 pulled over and asked 2 to leave. Another
customer not previously involved approached 2 and pushed him out the
door, 2 landing on his feet but injuring his ankle. 1 closed the doors and
drove away.
Spit 109 Male suspect boarded without fare and was denied a free ride by the
operator. Suspect started spitting in the bus and at the op before
grabbing some transfers and exiting the bus. Suspect kicked the door
causing the glass to break and a piece of the glass going into the
operator's eye.
Grab / Push 11 Operator was parked at and was approached by male
suspect who boarded and grabbed her right thigh and made a lewd
comment to her. Operator fled into the washroom and the suspect fled
the TC.
Punch 94 Customer was approached at by female suspect and punched
in the face for no reason. Suspect boarded bus and operator returned
from washroom. Suspect aggressively approached op and threatened to
stab her before punching the op in the arm. Suspect got off bus and on to
another bus where she made threats to other customers before falling
asleep. Suspect was arrested by EPS.
Grab / Push DATS A cognitively impaired customer's restraints failed on her chair at which
time the customer grabbed the operator's hair causing his head to snap
backwards.
Punch 5 Intoxicated male suspect boarded and laid down across the bench seats
at the front before moving towards an elderly lady and resting his head
on her knee. Operator pulled over and asked suspect to leave. Suspect
stood up and as he was about to get off, punched the op in the right side
of his face.

Spit 9 3 males and 1 female boarded the bus and shortly after were asked to be
quiet as they were becoming disruptive. Op reported incident to control
and as the suspects got off, one of the males spat and threw his food at
the operator. The main suspect was arrested by EPS for assault and the
others issued harassment tickets.
Weapon 13
Male suspect boarded with expired transfer to which operator pointed
out to suspect. Another customer offered to pay for the suspect who
moved to the back but approached the front again, threatening to punch
the op who called control to report the issue. Suspect approached op
again asking if he was calling security at which time the suspect attacked
the op, punching him in the face, biting him on the arm and striking him
with a piece of operator's cabin door that was broken off after being
kicked by the suspect, causing a large gash to the operator's neck.

Throw Object 59 Male suspect asked operator to catch up to a route 8 bus to which the op
said he would not be able to do that. Suspect became upset and threw a
full bottle of pepsi at the operator, missing him but spraying liquid over
him.
Throw Object 9 Operator asked male suspect to turn down his music as it was too loud.
Suspect swore at operator before throwing a transfer pad at him, hitting
him in the eye.
Spit 8 Male suspect missed his stop and asked the operator to let him off at a
red light. Operator refused as it was unsafe. When the bus pulled over the
suspect spat on the operator as he left, spit landing on the operator's
face.
Punch 161 Male suspect asked operator if bus went to "jasper" and operator
clarified which one. Suspect became upset and was punched in the right
arm.

Throw Object 103 Male suspect boarded without paying. Operator called out to suspect
indicating he could be fined if he didn't pay. Male became upset and
placed a ticket into the fare box and was offered a transfer which he did
not take. Suspect sat at the back of bus for a short time before
approaching the op and throwing a coffee cup filled with garbage at the
operator before fleeing. Incident was not reported for 1.5 hours.
Bite 9
Male suspect boarded route 9 but wanted the route 151. He rode the 9
for a while as he asked the operator questions about the route 151.
Suspect asked op if the 151 was ahead and would wait which the op said
he wasn't sure. Suspect attempted to bite operator's hand before fleeing.

Grab / Push 9 Off duty operator was standing at the front of the bus and a male suspect
tried to get off. Suspect began yelling at off duty operator for not moving
over far enough and began trying to push past. The off duty operator took
hold of the suspect and removed him from the bus.
Spit 4 Male suspect boarded and indicated he wanted to ride downtown and
was directed to the correct bus. Suspect changed his mind indicating UofA
instead so op asked for fare. Suspect stated he only had bills and wanted
to ride for one block however op asked suspect for fare again before
being spat on.
Spit 9 Operator attempted to wake female suspect who was asleep on bus and
when she woke she spat at the operator. No spittle landed on the
operator.
Produce Weapon 1 Male suspect was asked by operator to stop spitting on the bus. Suspect
approached operator and lunged at him with a chisel but missed,
damaging the fare box instead. Operator flagged down some nearby
Police who arrested the suspect.
Grab / Push 9 Male suspect with friend were riding the bus together before one got off,
the suspect stayed on. As the bus started moving the suspect wanted to
get off with his friend however was told to wait for the next stop. Suspect
became upset and the operator was poked in the face.
Punch 8 Male suspect was granted free ride by the operator. Upon leaving the
suspect asked the op for a transfer which was denied. Suspect became
upset with op and punched him in the right arm before fleeing.

Spit 11
Male suspect boarded and asked op to wait for friend who was arriving
on another bus. Operator refused and suspect became upset, banging on
the door and swearing. Op opened the door and asked the suspect to
leave at which time he spat at her, landing on her right arm and hand.
Produce Weapon 9 Female suspect boarded without fare and soon after produced an expired
transfer. Op informed suspect of this however allowed her to ride.
Another customer paid for the suspect and the op handed her a transfer
however the suspect grabbed another from the pad before demanding he
open the door. Suspect produced a metal pipe and swung it at the
operator, hitting him on the knee and smashing the fare box before
fleeing.
Spit 8 Suspect attempted to board without paying fare. Operator asked for fare
and suspect turned and yelled at op before spitting on the operator and
fleeing.
Punch 1 Intoxicated male suspect boarded and was harassing other customers.
Upon arrival at the transit centre the operator asked the suspect his
destination at which time the suspect swung a punch at the operator,
connecting with his leg.
Throw Object 7
Male suspect boarded and did not pay correct fare however the operator
did not say anything as the suspect did not want a transfer. A short time
later the operator asked the suspect to stop harassing customers as he
was blowing his nose into his hands. Suspect did not like this and threw
his coffee at a window and the operator before fleeing.
Punch 3 Intoxicated female boarded bus and did not pay fare. Op asked suspect
for fare at which time suspect began to cry and ask for a free ride while
asking customers for money. Suspect became angry with op and slapped
her across the face before fleeing.
Spit 4 Operator asked male suspect if he had fare as he entered the bus. Suspect
turned and spat in the face of the op and ran from the scene.
Spit 110 Male suspect boarded with exipred transfer. Operator pointed this out to
the suspect who became argumentative and spat on the operator, hitting
him in the face and arm.

Produce Weapon 363


Male suspect threatened and pulled a knife on 2 customers on the bus
who then approached the front of the bus to get off. After the customers
departed the suspect focused his attention to the operator. Suspect
threatened the op with a liquor bottle and knife from his waist band, also
holding it up at the operator. The suspect continued to threaten the op as
the phone was ringing, telling him not to answer or he will be harmed.
The suspect departed, stealing a transfer pad. EPS arrived and arrested
the suspect who was directed to his location by security control.
Spit 7
Male suspect boarded without paying fare and the operator continued on
the route. A short time later the operator requested fare from the
suspect who became aggressive and spat on the operator before fleeing.
Spit 5 Male suspect spat on operator as he was mad at the op for not opening
the door fast enough.
Throw Object 8 Operator saw male suspect running for the bus so he waited. As the
suspect approached he became agitated for no apparent reason,
throwing his coffee at the operator before fleeing. Video of the suspect
was obtained from a nearby 7/11.
Spit 125 Male suspect started yelling and swearing at the operator for no reason
whilst he was on a layover. Suspect spat in operator's face and was
arrested by EPS soon afterwards.
Throw Object 1 Male suspect boarded bus and became upset when he found out it was
going to a different destination to what he wanted. Suspect swore at the
op and threw the garbage pail at the op, striking him in the face.
Throw Object 12 Female suspect had been boarding bus for past month without paying
fare. On this day the operator informed the suspect she needed to pay or
she would not be riding. Suspect refused to pay and struck the op in the
face with some route map booklets several times.

Punch 140
Female suspect boarded incorrect bus and upon finding out, became
upset. Op offered suspect a transfer despite her not having paid and
attempted to offer resolution by informing her of the correct bus. Suspect
was shouting racial slurs at op who asked suspect to get off. Suspect
punched op in the shoulder and left. Op of a route 9 reported the suspect
had boarded his bus and she was arrested shortly afterwards.
Punch 151 Male suspect boarded and began harassing customers. Op asked suspect
to settle down however suspect approached op and punched him in the
arm before departing.
Grab / Push LRT Motorman arrived at and indicated to suspect that train was
out of service as he attempted to board. Suspect grabbed motorman's
arms trying to entice a fight. Motorman ran to the washroom to get away
from the suspect who was later arrested neaby by EPS who were dealing
with him for a separate incident.
Punch 5 Operator asked male suspect to stop swearing on the bus. Suspect
approached op and made comments to him before punching him in the
mouth and grabbing the transfers and fleeing.
Punch 9 Male suspect approached operator from behind for reasons unknown and
made a threat of violence before punching the op in the head. TPO's were
nearby and were immediately notified and able to assist the operator in
arresting the suspect.
Punch 1 Male suspect boarded, did not pay and was harassing customers. Op
asked suspect to leave however he refused and became aggressive with
op before punching him in the right arm about 10 times.
Punch 8 Female suspect boarded bus acting erratically, constantly ringing stop bell
and not departing despite saying she needed next stop. Op stopped bus
at next location and suspect approached op, punching him in the face. Op
rode in car with TPO's, locating suspect a short distance away where she
was arrested.
Throw Object 7 Operator asked suspect to stop spitting on floor of bus. Op asked suspect
to get off at which time he approached op and threw garbage pail at him
striking his arm. As suspect fled he also smashed a window.

Spit 41 Suspect attempted to use June transit pass and upon being informed of
this the op was spat on 3 times, spit landing on his sleeve.
Spit 5 Operator refused service to suspect attempting to board with garbage
bag containing cans. Suspect spat on op, landing on his arm.
Punch DATS DATS customer who suffers from cognitive impairment punched operator
in the head.
Punch 3 Suspect upset at operator who parked bus in different location. When
speaking to the operator the suspect was directed to another bus to
which the suspect left however turned around and returned, punching op
in head and body.
Throw Object 109 Operator accidentally cut off vehicle and driver approached op's window,
reached through and grabbed phone, hitting op on the head with the
handset. Op did not report the altercation to control and did not wish to
report to Police.
Throw Object 8 Intoxicated male suspect carrying a case of beer approached bus with lit
cigarette and was instructed to move away from the door and wait to pay
for fare when op returned. Suspect swore at op who then denied him
service at which time suspect flicked lit cigarette at op, contacting his
neck.
Sexual DATS Sexual advances made towards female DATS operator by male client.
Punch 8 Female suspect boarded with no fare but as she had no shoes op allowed
her to ride. As he pulled away a male rode up a on a bike and suspect
stated "that is my brother" and asked him to stop. The female grabbed
the steering wheel. Op stopped the bus, opened the door and asked the
female to get off. She attempted to punch him and he blocked the blow
with his arm. She then grabbed the transfers, got off the bus and fled the
area.
Grab / Push 11 Intoxicated male suspect boarded and started threatening a female
customer. Op told suspect to get off. Suspect approached op and grabbed
his wrist, trying to twist it. Op again told suspect to get off which he did.
TPO's arrived and male placed under arrest.

Punch 12 Male suspect attempted to board for free, asking for a transfer. Upon
being informed of fare, he punched operator in the head. Op pushed
suspect off bus in defense and suspect brandished knife and lunged at op
who closed the door, locking suspect outside of bus. Suspect arrested
short distance away.
Punch 9 Male suspect punched the operator in the leg. The operator believed that
the suspect was upset that his stop request couldn't be immediately
accomodated due to road construction.
Spit 2 Male suspect standing outside of bus yelling racial slurs at operator for no
reason. Suspect spat on operator and suspect fled into LRT Station.
Grab / Push 1 Intoxicated male suspect standing at front of bus talking to op who was
on layover. Suspect put his left arm over op's shoulder and poked him in
the right side of his ribs.
Grab / Push LRT Operator travelling home on LRT stepped in to assist a female being
harassed by a male after having just witness him harass two other
customers. The suspect approached the op in a threatening manner and
the op pushed him back at which time the suspect and op got involved in
a scuffle before separating once the emergency alarm was pushed. The
suspect was intercepted by TPO's at .
Grab / Push 1
Male boarded the bus and began to insult other customers. Operator
asked suspect to leave at which time he pushed the operator in the chest.
Throw Object 10
Male suspect attempted to board without fare and was refused entry by
the operator. Another customer paid the suspect's fare however the
suspect became angry with the op and struck him with his backpack.
Spit 8 Op whilst reading newspaper at relief point was approached by a male
suspect who spat on him, landing on his ear, face and clothing.
Spit 1 Operator asked male suspect to leave bus as he was sleeping prior to
arriving at . Suspect departed via back door however
approached op again who at the time was outside talking to another op
and spat on him, landing on his back.

Spit 10 Male suspect became upset with another customer and directed his
attention to the operator who was spat on his face before cracking a glass
pane and departing.
Punch 8 Operator was punched once to the head after refusing a ride to a
customer with an expired transfer.
Punch DATS DATS operator struck in the face and chest by DATS client whilst in the
process of tying down her wheel chair.
Throw Object 8 Female suspect boarded and upon being asked for fare she threw
something which struck the operator in the head.
Spit 4 Male suspect requested a transfer and op asked where he boarded to
give time appropriate. An argument ensued as boarding location did not
match route and suspect spat landing on operator's face, shoulder and
pants.
Punch 3 Male suspect boarded bus and was asked to move aside so that others
could get off. Suspect ignored this and requested a transfer - when he
was asked to place his fare in the box he punched op in the face before
fleeing with op's ID and swipe card.
Sexual 11 Male suspect entered bus and began touching op's leg and inner thigh
before placing his arm across her and attempting to kiss her.
Spit 70 Female suspect boarded and was denied free ride. Suspect became
agitated and spat on op's face/hand/sweater.
Punch 112 Op allowed suspect to ride for free and he asked for a transfer which was
denied. Suspect started causing a disturbance on the bus and operator
attempted to correct the behaviour of the suspect. Suspect raised his fists
as if to assault operator before fleeing.
Spit 4 Male suspect boarded via rear door without paying and approached op
asking for transfer which was denied. Suspect spat in op's face and exited
bus before hitting back foor causing glass to crack.
Spit 8 Suspect requested free ride which was denied. Suspect spat on operator
before being arrested a short distance away.
Punch 7 Suspect involved in disturbance on bus with another customer before
leaving. Suspect returned to scene and punched operator before fleeing.
Suspect was arrested shortly afterwards.

Grab / Push 747 Suspect attempted to board with expired monthly pass and when service
was refused male pushed operator.
Spit 8 Male suspect had expired transfer, when spoken to by op suspect became
belligerent and refused to pay before causing disturbance at rear of bus.
Op advised male to exit via front at which time he spat on op before
departing.
Spit 9 Two males did not have fare, op asked for fare, op was sworn at and spat
on from the front doors, saliva landing in hair and on shoulder.
Punch 74 Intox male suspect punched op in chest as he was stepping off to use
washroom. Upon return suspect grabbed op's arm and punched it three
times.
Spit 3 Suspect boarded and did not wish to pay fare and was given ticket from
another customer. Customer started to swear at op who called control.
Suspect approached op and spat on him before departing.
Spit 5 Female suspect and two female friends were causing a distubance on the
bus, op asked them to stop when the suspect spat on the op. The group
departed the bus and suspect was arrested shortly afterwards.
Spit 5 Male suspect boarded and did not pay full fare. Op stated fare however
male ignored and sat down. As male was leaving he spat at the op,
landing on his leg.
Spit 8 Male suspect was spitting on the floor of the bus and bothering
customers which prompted the op to call control. Male suspect
approached op and spat in his face before departing.
Spit 141 Male suspect approached the op from the rear of the bus yelling and
swearing before spitting on the op and departing.
Punch 9 Male suspect threatened to punch op and raised his fist in an aggressive
manner. Male was intoxicated and became belligerent after another
patron asked op to stop the bus however was unable to do so.
Punch 3 Suspect attempted to board the bus at the same time another female was
attempting to exit the bus via the front door resulting in an argument. Op
asked suspect to settle and suspect struck op in the face and right arm
with her fist, and pulled his right index finger backwards.

Grab / Push 1 Op was struck in the face, causing suspect's finger to poke op's eye by an
intoxicated female after asking her and her associate to leave the bus for
consuming liquor.
Punch 89 suspect forgot an item on the bus but was unable to board in the middle
of an intersection. Suspect boarded at a stop along the route and
threatened the Op. When the Op attempted to call for help, the suspect
struck the Op several times with a fist and then fled.
Punch 3 Op allowed suspect to ride bus for free however as suspect stepped off
he asked for a transfer which was denied. Suspect grabbed transfers and
attempted to remove fare box, op attempted to prevent this and was
punched in the arm as he attempted to block punch.
Spit 60 Male suspect boarded and female associate did not have fare. Op stated
to female that she should pay, male suspect became belligerent and spat
on op.
Throw Object 8 Male suspect boarded without paying fare after op stepped off to empty
garbage, op approached and asked male to leave bus twice, denying him
a free ride. Male stepped off and threw some coins at op some striking
him on side of the head.
Spit 95 Op entered transit terminal as two females and a male walked slowly in
front of bus. Op honked horn to indicate them to hurry up. As the op
parked, the suspect walked up to the window and spat in the op's face
and punched the window causing it to spider.
Grab / Push DATS Wheelchair bound DATS customer was upset when the operator did not
stop at the prearranged location. Dispute took place and operator
refused service to the patron at which point the patron attempted to
choke the operator.
Grab / Push 127 Female suspect boarded without displaying fare and sat down.
Approached op a second time who requested to see fare. Suspect
demanded a transfer and grabbed the op by the right hand causing a
small scratch.
Spit 8 Male suspect boarded at and was swearing/acting
irrationally. Operator asked male to leave at which time he spat on the
operator before fleeing.

Grab / Push 2 Intoxicated male suspect boarded at and did not produce fare.
When informed of fare male made hand gestures and touched operator
head area rubbing down his chest and into crotch area before boarding
another bus and fleeing shortly after departure.
Spit 8 (Delayed report - 30 minutes) - Female suspect got on the bus at
and had a bus pass. Op stated the female was with another male
youth who asked if the bus went to northgate. Op stated that he did not

Grab / Push 8 Male suspect boarded without paying fare and attempted to steal a
transfer. Operator attempted to prevent this and suspect grabbed
operator's arm and entered a fight stance.
Punch 2 Male suspect boarded bus and refused to show full pass to op before
punching op in upper right arm.
Punch 2 Male suspect boarded and asked op to break a bill. Op informed male he
was unable to do this. Male reached behind shoulder and made closed
fist and motioned as if he was going to swing at the op.
Punch 5 OP was waved down by female suspect who boarded and puched op in
the face whilst stating "call the cops I want to go to jail"
Punch 33 Suspect approached front of bus as it was about to leave the transit
center & grabbed the steering wheel & punched op once in face.
Spit 10 Operator was spat (mouth/eyes) on by an adult female after the operator
seized a youth bus pass from an adult.
Spit 100 Male suspect boarded with expired transfer, op informed suspect who
requested another which was denied however op allowed suspect on.
Suspect spat on operators face.
Spit 8 Op observed disturbance at rear of bus between two males. Nothing
transpired however when one of the males approached the front the op
informed the male to be quiet or step off resulting in the male suspect
spitting on the op.

Grab / Push 15 Op denied two male suspects free ride. Suspects attempted to instigate
fight with op by throwing a fake punch which brushed op, as the other
suspect pushed the op in the back. Males arrested by EPS on warrants, no
criminal charges to be laid in relation to assault.
Spit 9
Suspect boarded and did not pay fare. Op called the suspect back to the
front of the bus where she swore at the op. Female suspect was told to
get off the bus where she punched the op once with a closed fist which
connected to his right shoulder. The suspect spat on the op twice.

female grabbed the Op and pulled at his shoulder when he had
attempted to obtain her attention by tapping her shoulder seeking fare.
Punch 9 Male suspect attempted to punch op. Male located and became
belligerent with the TPO and then fled the bus as he was issued a 24 hour
ban. The male was pursued for a short time, but evaded TPOs. Male
boarded the same Route 8 bus moments later two blocks away where he
damaged a window when TPOs arrived after being flagged down by the
operator. The male again fled and evaded officers. Concluded - suspect
charged
Throw Substance 151 Intoxicated female patron was abusive to the operator after requesting a
free ride and sprayed her beer on the operator. Operator did not want
EPS involvement. Concluded
Defensive Spray 2 male suspect boarded and became upset with operator after asking about
donate a ride program. The male got off the bus, while using profane
language towards the operator as the operator attempted to close the
door. The male put his foot in the door and attempted to pry the door
open. Operator opened the door and male boarded the bus and
proceeded to spray at the operator hitting him under the right eye and on
his glasses. The male also sprayed towards patrons on the bus.
BEND FINGER 8 Female paid fare, requested a transfer. Operator offered transfer, then
before female took hold of it the operator moved as the female grabbed
for the transfer, making contact with the operator's hand causing a finger
to bend back.

Operator asked a male subject causing a disturbance to calm down and
was struck on the arm by the suspect's elbow before the suspect stepped
off the bus and struck a window, breaking it. Police not contacted
THROW OBJECT 75 two juvenile subjects threw paper bag of popcorn at bus. Operator
extended his head out window when one of the subjects again threw the
bag which struck the Operator in the face and bent his glasses. Police not
contacted
PUNCHING - DEFLECTED 75
Intoxicated male struck patron in face before approaching operator and
attempting to punch operator. Punch was deflected causing the punch to
strike right arm of operator. Male fled location, Police investigating.
PUNCHING - NO CONTACT 85 Female motioned to punch an operator. The female was also verbally
abusive to the operator and made racial comments. The female exited
the bus prior to TPO arrival. Police not contacted
GRAB & PUSH 74 Male stood infront of and obstructed a bus from leaving. Eventually bus
able to carry on and the male ran to a nearby bus link and began yelling at
the operator that he was early. Male was able to board the bus while two
other patrons boarded and began grabbing the running board and
steering wheel. The male started video taping the bus operator and the
opeator feared for his safety. There was an altercation and the subject
pushed and grabbed the operator prior to fleeing the scene. Police
investigating.
GRAB 7 Male accidently splashed by the bus. Male issued a verbal lashing toward
the operator then made a motion that he was going to strike the
operator. The male grabbed the face of the operator and removed his
eye glasses before throwing into snow bank and fleeing. Reported to
Police.

operator with closed fist which was deflected. The male was removed
from bus by patrons. Incident not reported to TPO's until .
PUNCHING 8 Male boarded the bus and placed a transfer in the fare box. Male
punched the operator on the shoulder / arm and sat on bus.
SPITTING - CONTACT 9 Male boarded the bus with out paying the full fare and began bothing
patrons. Male stated he was going to . When arriving at
the operator informed the male he was at his destination. The
male became agaitated and spit in the operator's face. Male was arrested
a short time later. Police charging male
SPITTING - CONTACT 12 Female was swearing on the bus and the operator asked her to stop.
Female then began directing profanities to him and spit on him, hitting
him on the shoulder. The operator detained the female until the police
arrived

Male threw change towards the fare box and yelled at the operator
throughout the trip. When the operator called control the male punching
him in the head 4 - 5 times before exiting. TPOs identified the male on
and the information was forwarded to the police
THREW OBJECT 120 Male did not pay a fare when boarding bus. Operator contacted control
and the male attempted to head but him. The male left the bus but
threw a chunk of ice at the operator hitting him in the torso before
leaving. EPS not contacted
SPITTING - NO CONTACT 127 Male boarded bus with out displaying fare and started yelling at the
operator when he looked back expecting a pass to be shown. Male then
spit towards operator. TPOs were on scene and issued the male a ticket
and ban as the operator did not want the police involved

dispute the male spat on the operator. TPOs responded and EPS is
investigating
THREW COFFEE Female threw coffee at the operator and left. TPOs located female and
issued her bylaw fines as the operator did not want to pursue criminal
charges
PUSHED / PUNCHED 10 Intoxicated male pushed and then punched operator outside of a
convenience store. EPS responded and suspect was tracked by canine
and arrested.
SPIT - CONTACT 70 Female had been talking to herself loudly and staring at other passengers.
Female exited the bus and turn and spat on the operator. There was no
communication by the female or operator. Female left the area / EPS
investigating
SPIT - CONTACT 120 Male spit on operator after being denied a ride after presenting an
expired pass / identified by TPOs via CCTV / info passed to EPS & male

STRUCK 63 Dispute occurred when a female passenger wanted to use the book of
routes while the bus was moving. Operator was struck in the chest by the
female and she when fled

Male fell off of his bicycle in front of the operator's bus. The bus stopped
and the male approached the door. When the operator opened the door
the male started yelling at the operator. When male left he kicked the
door and punched the window by the driver. The window spidered and
the operator thought he may have glass in his eye.
GRABBED 110 Male presented a counterfeit pass and the operator seized it. Male
grabbed the operator's arm to and the pass and fled. The operator did
not want EPS involvement
HIT WITH OBJECT 7
Intoxicated male got mad after operator refused to stop in the middle of
the street so he could get off of the bus. Male threw a lighter at the
operator at the next stop hitting operator in the head. EPS arrested male
and issued tickets as the operator did not want criminal charges
PUNCHED 4 Male produced a July pass and walked onto the bus. Operator asked
male to see pass again and the male got upset. The operator gave the
male a transfer. Shortly after the male exited the back door and re-
entered at the front and punched the operator in the face. The operator
grabbed the broom and poke the male in the eyes before the male fled /
EPS investigating
OTHER 317 Operator was sitting on bench near prior to his shift when a male
started throwing grass on him and spitting on him. EPS and TPOs tried to
investigate but the operator was not cooperative and did not want to
provide any information
PUNCHED 5 Male requested a discounted fare and male punched operator in the face
after he displayed the fare prices. Male fled. EPS investigating
HIT WITH OBJECT 8 Male threatened operator with his crutch and hit him in the arm before
departing / Male identified by TPOs / EPS investigating.

several times. TPO and EPS arrived near the same time and EPS arrested
the male for assault

THREW OBJECT 11 Intoxicated male threw the white garbage pail at the operator. This
resulted in a broken fingernail for the operator. The male also broke an
exterior mirror on the bus. Suspect indentified by TPOs. Operator could
not identifiy the male in a photo line up

Male became upset when operator applied brakes on the bus. Male spat
on operator and broke a window on the bus with a rock before fleeing.
Male called 311 to complaint about operator and his information was
passed on to EPS. Arrested & charged the day after the assault
PUNCHED 1 Three males boarded the bus and the subject male put a dime and a
cigarette butt in the fare box. A short time later the bus had completed
service. The operator advised the males that the bus was out of service
and the male punched and threatened the operator. TPOs and EPS
arrived and the male was arrested
SPITTING / CONTACT 317 Male spat on operator after fare was requested. Male then caused a
disturbance a short time later on another bus.
PUSHING / SHOVING 9 Male attempted to take a book of transfers after being denied a free ride.
Suspect shoved operator when he stopped the male from taking the
transfers
PUNCHING ??? Male was asked to quiet down after being disruptive on the bus.
Operator denied re-entry to bus after male exited. Male punched
operator in the leg. EPS arrested the male shortly after the incident.
TOUCHING / SLAPPING / 62 Operator reported the incident approximately 60 minutes after it
PUNCHING occurred. Could not recall if his arm was touched, slapped or punched.
Operator did not report the incident to EPS and stated that he is not going
to
PUNCHING 4 Fare dispute lead to male punching the operator in the head. Suspect
fled. TPOs were able to identify the suspect after viewing CCTV from the
bus / EPS is investigating

opened all doors. Operator got off of the bus for his safety and one of the
