I wonder if the library has

as an eBook...

Scenario Two: one point, many libraries
Library eBooks are not easy to discover

eBook vendors like Overdrive or Baker and Taylor create separate “storeronts” or
microsites or library eBooks, separating them rom the rest o the collection or
making a user experience that doesn’t blend with the rest o the site.

Library catalogs don’t always help, either

Public library inormation retrieval and Web site design is still catching up with commercial experiences designed or discovery. Library systems oten ail when people don’t know exactly what they’re looking or.

Scenario Two: one point, many libraries
(cont.)
People use Google or Amazon to fnd a title or author frst

People commonly deer to other resources or browsing and discovery and do only
known-item searching on library Web sites. But i they are already looking elsewhere
or inspiration and ease o use, why not take advantage o that?

BookServer search results bring people to your eBooks

BookServer, a project o the Internet Archive, could be used or libraries to pool
descriptive inormation about their eBook holdings and make them easily ound
across the Web. Unlike Google Books, materials aren’t centralized. Just the way you
nd them. BookServer links can include transactions like borrowing or buying.
