Sheaves of Grain

Genesis.37:7

Things Not Seen

I see it not with mortal eyes;

But God himself hath said,
There is a heaven beyond the skies,
For all the righteous dead.

I see it not, but joyful press

Along the heavenly road,
That I may dwell in righteousness,
Within that blest abode.

I see it not; its glories bright

Are not for mortal eyes:
By faith I walk, nor pray for sight,
‘Till to its realms I rise.

I see it not, but soon shall see,

If I shall faithful prove,
its mansions fair, from sorrow free,
And palaces of love.
I see it not; but oh, when there,
How glorious to behold!
And I a glittering crown shall wear,
And strike a harp of gold.

I see it not; but made secure,

By God’s own promise given,
I’ll onward press, in faith endure,
‘Till crowned at last in heaven.

Dear Saviour, aid this struggling heart,

And keep me in the road;
My footsteps guide, thy grace impart,
To lead to thine abode.
