Looking for a indoor activity? Why not head down to Fifth Avenue Cinemas to watch
Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist,and Rebel
which opens on August 27th. A biographical film taking an intimate look at the outspoken, flamboyant founder of the Playboy empire. When Hefner launched Playboy magazine in 1953, he becamea champion of the sexual revolution. Unfortunately, the churchand state were offended by his liberal ideas and initiated a waragainst Hugh that would go on for decades. Hefner has alwaysbeen known as a hedonistic playboy, whose main focus hasbeen lots of women and sexual encounters. However, theother side of Hugh, unknown to most has been an individualwho fought to become a groundbreaking advocate and cata-lyst for civil rights, the First Amendment, and human rights. With humour and insight, the film captures Hefner's fiercebattles with the government, the religious right, and militantfeminists. Compelling interviews with some of the mostprominent people throughout the decades gives a brilliant andentertaining snapshot of the life of an extraordinary man andthe controversies that surrounded him.

The Beer Fetching, Laundry Folding Robot
Turning dreams into reality is what this high tech bot is all about! After successfully teaching their PR2 robot to play pool and win, theguys over at Willow Garage have now successfully taught PR2 tofold socks, and even fetch a beer!Folding socks may seem simple, but for a robot, this is a verycomplex task. The PR2 must first determine if the socks are insideout and flip them around if needed, then decide if the socks areoriented in the same direction, and finally locate the exact points inwhich the socks should be picked up to ensure the perfect fold. At the moment it takes PR2 almost 15 minutes to fold one pair of socks, however, this handy little robot has another trick up it’ssleeves that will help make the wait more bearable - it fetches beer! With a simple voice command instructing the robot which beer toretrieve, the PR2 heads to the fridge, picks out the beer, and thendelivers it to you using face recognition software. The PR2 robot goes on sale next month for a handsome $400,000per unit, and is touted to become the new “man’s best friend”. Sorrypooches, until a dog can do my laundry, I will be saving for one of these bad boys!
