I know everything is moving quickly towards El Paso right now, but the letter issue is arising again
even though it’s all on hold right now. I was out on Friday and not sure if it was handled already or if
this is a topic for this week’s workshops. The corps issues/concerns are stated below. Has a
resolution to sending out the letters been reached for when we resume contacts/communications?
Thanks for any insight.

I learned this morning that if the Corps can’t get their coordination letter sent out this week, the
Sasabee fence project is going to be wrecked, and troops will be at loose ends. This refers back to
the hold we’ve been placed on in relation to outreach. It is extremely important that the environmental
work not be slowed down any more than necessary, as it will result in the loss of deployments of
troops which are already scheduled to do work. Possibly more importantly, the timely mailing of these
letters is critical as a fed. holiday approaches. We could end up in the position of looking as though
we are hiding a project behind a holiday, as was accused recently in a project in the Sasabee area.

(b) (6) would like to know the exact process for sending out these letters to other agencies, the
public, etc. I know that you and I discussed this quickly last week, and that a process is in place. He
would like more specifics so that he can understand how it works.
