WE grow planes here
Wow. Yeah, ditto on the treehouse. Poor tree!
Cool. I always wanted a treehouse that looked like a plane.
correct tail number is N6487J (N8487J is a cessna 150 with no recorded accident). probable cause was carb icing.
Scribd needs OpenID!!!!!
bleh, what a fake
ACTUALLY, I take it back. That ntsb report is the wrong one. According to the tail number on snopes, he didn't turn back from the runway. Not the one in the pic anyway. Though there was an idiot with 27000 and a CFI that did, it isn't this pic. This pic is a carb icing issue. http://ntsb.gov/ntsb/GenPDF.asp?id=DEN07CA035&a...
Nick, exactly what I saw and was about to post. I love you.
And for the other naysayers.. there is an NTSB report on it. Search by tail number (N8487J) at ntsb dot gov.
It's real.
One report said the pilot has 27000 hours and a CPL/instructor rating. This guy then SHOULD KNOW you DONT DO a 180degree turn back to the runway at anything less than 500feet AGL. The report said he did so at 150feet AGL. Not too bright..
Just so its straight the NTSB report says that after takeoff the engine lost power and the pilot attempted to turn around to the airport. Of course the smart thing to do is always look for a field, and judging by the picture there a probably a few around.
