APersonal Representative(sometimes called anadministrator or an executor) is a person who is given theresponsibility of settling the estate of a deceased person. Apersonal representative can be nominated by the individualwho makes a Will or appointed by a court handling theprobate proceedings in the event there is no Will. Anexecutor or personal representative has the responsibility foradministrating property and ensuring distribution inaccordance with established probate rules and procedures.
