In a world where civilisation has scorched the earth and retreated behind sheltering walls, Tom awakens within his sterile living quarters. Unable to have knowledge downloaded into his mind like the rest of society, he is carefully tutored by a professor experienced in traditional methods. On this monumental day, the head-of-state moves to issue the final amendment to the mind of its populous with promises to reconcile or perhaps homogenise every single human being. Only at the precipice of destroying free thought will Tom have the chance to see his own unfortunate individuality as a means of escape.
