A work of fiction, Angels Keep Watch expresses a central theme of ‘good versus evil’. The characters transform in dealing with inner psychic demons of their own creation. With a paranormal flavor, struggles ensue of a personal nature over the strife of life. As a form of “Spy-Fi”, the story unfolds in the quest to recover an ancient relic. Like the “grail quest”, the treasure, formerly belonging to God’s chosen people, serves as a special focal point. As an adventure of personal salvation, the story blends the essence of Science Fiction and Espionage in a fantasy of individual evolution. In a sense, the story could be equated to “Indiana Jones meets Area 51” with a hint of James Bond action. Or, the “X-Files discovers Lord of the Rings”.
Conflict and controversy build on two primary levels. The mission: secure the treasure, and the intense love interest between the hero and the villain. Dr. Sterling Striffe is the central character, the hero. The villain is his fiancé’, Myla Trench (Code Named ‘The Black Widow’). Both reflecting the dark side of each other in the duality of good and evil. As a retired CIA case officer, Striffe is now special consultant to the agency via his Magi Consulting Group. Dr. Striffe and his team pursue the infamous international terrorist, Myla Trench. From a secret base in the Gulf of Mexico (a disguised oil platform), Dr. Striffe and associates pursue Myla Trench to ancient temple ruins in Mexico. A place where the “grail” is hidden. Their mission is to capture Ms. Trench, terminate her operations, surrender her for trial, and secure the relic for national security interests. As images of the “Men in Black”, Dr. Striffe plans to deliver the ancient treasure for scientific research by CIA scientists at Area 51. This is another base from which the team operates and carries on global mercenary activities.
