General News

1. The "Colleges in the Spotlight" section of the Counselor's Corner will return in September. Each week,
three US or Canadian colleges will be featured. For past colleges highlighted, please refer to last year's
Phoenix Flyers starting with the January 22, 2010 edition.

2. The October SAT is Saturday, October 9th. Students must make sure that when they register, their
name matches their official ID. If the names don't match, they will not be granted entry to take the test.

3. Upcoming College Visits


 Wake Forest University – Monday, August 23rd, at 10:45
 University of Notre Dame – Thursday, September 9th, 10:45

4. Any new student in grades 9-12 who still has not activated his/her Family Connection, KIS's
comprehensive website that you can use to help in making decisions about your courses, colleges, and
careers, must stop by the College Counselor’s office this week.

5. Any parents who need to activate their Family Connection account should email the College Counselor
at rmodica@kis.or.kr.
