RESPONSE TEAM
The Code White Steering Committee is looking for interested MUHC employees
who would like to play an important role in decreasing potential patient
aggression and violence and improving workplace safety.
PURPOSE OF THE CODE WHITE TEAM

 To contribute to the de-escalation of an emergency situation involving patient behaviour.

 To provide the patient with the best and safest care and assist the clinical team in maintaining a safe work
environment.
 To prevent injury to the patient(s), staff and others.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?

 Receive specific certified code white training to
prepare you to safely use non-violent
intervention strategies
 Learn how to defuse an escalated situation in
which there is the potential or actual danger of
harm
 Practice your newly acquired skills in the
MUHC simulation centre
 Establish a sense of belonging with the
Code White Team
 Work in collaboration with different
disciplines
 Improve work environment and safety
