Round 1: Business plan

 Come up with an innovative Business plan.

 It can be any type of business – service or manufacturing.
 The capital limit for your business is 5 crores.
 The business has to be situated in India.
 Projected financial statements (P&L and Balance sheet) for 2 years to be included in the
report.
 You may include any other types of analysis (if you want) in the report in order to
convince us about the effectiveness of the plan.

You will be judged based on:

 Innovativeness of the concept.

 The feasibility/practicality of the project.
 The practicality of the finances projected.
 Your presentation skills.
 Your understanding of the finances.

 Preliminary filtration will be done on the basis of the report of the Business plan.
 The teams which get through the preliminary filtration will have to give a PowerPoint
presentation of the Business plan.
 Time limit for the PowerPoint presentation is 4+2mins. (2mins for rebuttal)

 The soft copy of the report has to be sent to – straxis10@gmail.com with “Finance, Your
class, Team leader’s name” as the subject.
 The mail should reach us by 8 p.m. Thursday, 12th August (tomorrow) failing which you
will be eliminated.
Bonus Round
 You are given cash of Rs. 10,00,000.00 (ten lacs).
 You can invest it in any of the shares that is listed in the BSE or NSE.
 You will be investing it as at the closing price of Thursday, 11 th August 2010 (today).
 You can invest it in any number of companies in any proportion as you choose.
 These stocks will be valued as at the closing price of Friday, 13 th August 2010.
 The team with the highest net worth as at Friday wins.

[It is not necessary to invest the whole amount. And you are not allowed to exceed the given
amount]

The investment profile has to be submitted by 8 a.m. tomorrow (12th).

 A maximum of 8 teams will be selected to the 3rd (Final) Round.
 The points of the Bonus Round will be taken into consideration only after the Final
Round.
 The points of the bonus round will not be taken into consideration for the elimination
after the 2nd round nor for the preliminary filtration.
