Formations

1. Red/Blue (basic double wing formation)


2. Ram/Lion (basic wing-t formation)
3. North(ern)/South(ern) (end over) (“ern” widens SE split)
4. East(ern)/West(ern) (tackle over) (“ern” widens SE split)
5. Bear/Bull (short wing)
6. Robin/Eagle (TE and SE on same side split out)
7. Cowboy (TE split out)
8. Jeep (TE and SE on same side, both standing, just outside wing)
9. Stud (double tight)
10. Snug (full house backfield)
11. Reo/Leo (strong wing-t formation)
12. King/Queen (empty)
13. Century sets (200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 900) (I formations)

All word-based formations are automatic double wing except for Ram/Lion, Reo/Leo,
Snug.
Can combine formations, e.g. Ram Robin would be a wing-t backfield with both SE and
TE split out to the right.

Formation Adjustments
1. Rip/Liz – moves WB to same side with other WB (good split to the outside)
2. Rex/Lex – moves WB to same side with other WB in a bunch look
3. Flex – moves WB away from TE to a flanker position.
4. Pro – moves WB on side of TE to a flanker position.
5. Ace – splits both WBs to flanker position.

6. C – moves FB to side flank away from SE (never cover an eligible receiver)


7. Rock – FB offset to the right
8. Lava – FB offset to the left

9. Nasty (brings SE into a nasty split from EMOL)

Shift (on QB “Move!”)

“Trade” – TE switches sides

Motion (on QB nod) ALWAYS SPRINT MOTION

“Jet” – all the way across the formation


“Rocket” – WB returning to RB position
Passing Plays

3-Step (300) Sprint-Out (400/500) Roll-Out (800/900) and Play Action (600)
1. Flood (Smash, Deep Out, Flat)
2. Mesh (Whip, Smash, Flat)
3. Post (Skinny, Post, Flat)
4. Triangle (Fade, Whip, Choice)
5. Wheel (Curl, Post, Wheel)
6. All (All receivers run same pattern)
7. Pass/Boot (FS: Smash, Delay Flat; BS: Post, Drag)
8. Waggle (PSE Vertical, FB Flat, BSE Post, BSB Settle)

3. Sweep (Don’t block anyone inside playside B-gap)
