for Readers
Welcome to the first-ever MCC Young Adult-led worship service! Everyone involved inplanning and leading this service is under the age of 35, and we are SO grateful for ourModerator who, while still looking 35, intentionally invests in young people. She hascertainly been a big supporter of bringing this dream to reality tonight! And so tonight we embark on a journey to our future. A journey designed to envision theMCC when those currently under 35 are Moderators, Elders, and leaders. A journeydesigned to appreciate the best of our past, challenge the present, and embrace thefuture to which God calls us. Join with us, sing with us, laugh with us, celebrate with us…dance with us!

Call To Worship—Many/All
All the young people are on stage for this speaking one set of lines, and the entirerest of the denomination (and therein the older generations) are responding.
The Future (many): We remember. We remember all that has been done to make a wayfor us,to bring us to this moment. The Present (all): We believed in the possibility of a different world. With PRIDE, we seethenew world that only you can bring into existence. The Future: We thank you for standing up to forces that would have silenced our peopleforever. For standing against governments, churches, schools—principalities andpowers of all sorts. The Present: And we entrust to you the same challenge. To stare down injusticewherever youencounter it, believing that one day equality, peace, and unity will be achieved. The Future: If not for you, we would not be here. The Present: If not for you, the next generation of MCC will never be. The Future: Will you help us reach them? The Present: Yes, we solemnly commit to reaching them! But will you teach us how toreachthem? The Future: Yes, we solemnly commit to teaching you how to speak to the young peopleof today and tomorrow. The Present: We confess we are a bit scared of all the change they may bring. The Future: We confess we coming bringing change.ALL: May God help us as we journey into the unknown future to which we are called.

Song Set
Hear Our Praises
May our homes be filled with dancing; may our streets be filled with joyMay injustice bow to Jesus as the people turn and pray

May our light shine in the darkness as we walk before the crossMay your glory fill the whole earth as the water o'er the seas

(Chorus) From the mountains to the valleys hear our praises rise to youFrom the heavens to the nations hear our singing fill the air, fill the air

(Bridge) Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
God of Wonders
God of all creation; of water, earth, and sky;Heavens are your tabernacle; glory to the Lord on High

(C1) God of wonders beyond our galaxy; you are holy, holy The universe declares your majesty; you are holy, holy;God of heaven and earth; God of heaven and earth Early in the morning; I will celebrate the lightWhen I stumble in the darkness; I will call your name by night

Bridge: Hallelujah, to the God of Heaven and earth (repeat 2x)

Precious Lord reveal your heart to me; O God hold me, hold me The universe declares your majesty; you are holy, holy, holy, holy(C2) God of wonders beyond our galaxy; you are holy, holy;
Mighty to Save
Everyone needs compassion, a love that's never failing, let mercy fall on meEveryone needs forgiveness, the kindness of a Savior, the hope of nations

So take me as You find me, all my fears and failures, fill my life againI give my life to follow, everything I believe in; now I surrender

(Chorus) Savior, You can move the mountains; my God is mighty to save, You aremighty to save. Forever, author of salvation, he rose and conquered the grave, Jesusconquered the grave

(Bridge) Shine Your light and let the whole world see, we're singing for the glory, wehave been set free Jesus, shine Your light and let the whole world see, we're singing for the glory, we havebeen set free

(Tag) Jesus, shine Your light and let the whole world see,We're singing for the glory, we have been set free
Reading— Ecclesiastes 3:1-5—Imani Sullivan
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to beborn, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time tokill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, anda time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to throw away stones, anda time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain fromembracing.
