Written specifically for the novice, Getting Started in Trading explains the basics of trading, in any time frame. While most beginner books answer such technical questions as "What is a put" and "What is a call", this book describes both the "what" of trading and the how: how do I place a trade, how do I select a broker, and what do I tell them when I open my account? It provides detailed information on selecting a computer, software packages, and data sources.

This book contains very basic introductory information on many topics. It is really more of a reference to other software, books, services, and professionals. Most of the information has become antiquated. For example, many of the things she discusses purchasing software for can be done freely and easily at ThinkorSwim. One positve apsect was the emphasis that the author placed on education, practice and testing. I found both the section on Evaluating Performance, and the suggested reading list useful.
